Knothole Island The Sun Key

Hi There.
Ok so I have finished pretty much all there needed to be done on the main Fable 2 disk......and so am giving Knothole Island a bash.

I completed the big freeze quest, during which I got me dog back from out of the tomb sacrificing an Islander .......I went back to Albion's mainland, had a look for some Gargoyals, and LOST MY DOG again, I think he must be injured somewhere and he can't follow me...bloody dog!

So then I went back to knothole Island to do the sun quest, I have talked to the chief, and followed the trail to go and get the SUN KEY, when i get to the circle where i have to DIG IT UP, my spade icon DOES NOT APPEAR, so i try and do it maually, he has a dig...but he NEVER finds the sun key! I just CANNOT seem to dig it up or activate the dig icon.......can anyone suggest what i am doing wrong?
do i need to trek all over Albion trying to find me dog again, or is he gone for good now? i cannot seem to re-open the tomb and sacrifice another islander, much to my disapointment.
Its getting frustrating now!...as much as I love falel 2, Albion and Knothole Island, this is bugging the hell out of me.

Any help would be appreciated.

Try to heal your dog.

Then put your controller down and wait for him to come back or go to sleep.

cheers for getting back I appreciate that.

My dog icon no longer appears when I press right sholder button for my expressions......its no longer there just like when it vanishes after you chose to sacrifice all you love for the good of the people of Albion. So, I thought i would go back to the memory lane demon door, where the ghost dog resides, and where my dog icon apears again.....so i tried the Heal Dog expression then....i know ghost dog is dead for ever, i just thought The Heal Dog expression might revive, my new dog.....but sadly it doesn't.
The thing is also, that i did all the Archeologist missions without the aid of my dog and managed to dig things up in the ring no problem, so am not sure why it won't happen now in the area where i am supposed to dig up the Sun Key.
has any one else got any ideas?

Try going to Bowerstone and wait around a bit. If the dog got injured and lost, he will eventually hobble in. I don't know if the dog can find you if your on Knothole Island, that's why I suggest Bowerstone. Sleeping for a few weeks might work, but you might have to just let the game sit. Just don't leave the area and he should eventually show up.

Ok thanks i shall try that, the only other alternative is to retire my character and start the whole game again, but befor i do i shall give your suggestion a try
