That picture sums up how I feel. I was looking forward to L4D2 because I thought of it as an oppurtunity to learn more about the characters from the first, and to see that they will be making no appearance in the second makes me NOT want to buy it. There is now a Daytime aspect, and while it feels more realistic that way, it looses that feel the original had, same with how the hunter does not wear shoes anymore, wears green and has regular colored skin. It's just not going to be as good.

I felt there wasnt much of an actual story for the characters in L4D so therefore not much to 'expand' upon. They were merely different skins on the same character build with different voices. There was only the odd character comment to differentiate the characters from each other. So i didnt mind much that they had dropped them entirely as its only them reskinning some other characters and changing the voices again.

My beef of L4D2 after seeing it and playing the demo:
It is exactly the same, but stupider, I can get the new features but, you lose your pistols if you grab the melee weapons? Seriously?Boomer Bile Vials? Really? It felt like the exact same game with different colors and a few new enemies/ a few new guns (Which take up 70% of your screen) and 4 UGLY new characters.

@Drakan: I mainly just wanted to know more about Francis, him being my favorite. I know there wasn't much to expand on, heh, there wasn't anything to expand on really, but that's why I wanted to know more. If theres nothing to expand on, you make something to expand on. If that makes any sense. I mainly just want to know what REALLY happened to them, as i'm not sure which campaign to think of as Canon.

I guess that's the entire point, its a grab for money.
You loose your pistols, but if you have been downed, you keep 1 pistol, and melee weapons are auto kill and 2 hits on special infected, so they beat pistols a whole lot. And they are cool.
Boomer bile vials are like pipe bombs, but can be used on tanks and such, they are more of a upgrade to the pipe bombs.

I mean, what did you expect? For it to be any different then L4D1? What, you want it in third person with people shooting bubble guns out of there mouths? And for it to be a platformer with carrot monsters?

If you have it on steam, go to the main folder for l4d2 demo, look in models, players, and you will see 4 different folders from the other 4, teen_angst, veteran, biker, manager, or whatever they are called, too lazy to look now,
maybe they make an appearance or Valve is messing with us.

I know that, I played the demo, I knew it was suckage since I first heard of it, I am not even going to support VALVe by renting it, (And VALVe is my fav company)

I expected NO L4D sequels, because there was nothing to expand on, it would be stupid, I want them to focus ALL their attention on finishing Half-Life 2's AMAZINGNESS and the Portal sequel.

You can kill zombies with a frying pan. I am one happy camper.

Plus I guess I never saw L4D1 as anything deep and meaningful in the first place. The story doesn't interest me - I just like killing stuff, watching witches burn and hiding like a camping little coward from the Tank.

The Jockey annoys me though... but the new special infected characters give me a whole new repertoire for insulting various relatives of Steve's, so it's all good in the long run

from the beginning L4D almost apologetically screamed "NO PLOT JUST KILL ZOMBIES". all of the campaigns had no story, and were listed as scenarios. i fail to see where the surprise comes in...

Ive already pre-ordered it it had a great yet laggy demo the introduction to melee weapons really spiced it up and the charger only makes it more intense

I feel myself drawn in to playin it just to feed the fad... MUST................. RESIST.......... GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!!!!!!!! All well, my main focus is on getting a "Power PC" and some good games 4 it.

i really didnt care about the old characters in the old one they had no story so made no difference that they are gone. and jockey ****es me off

i mainly bought it just for versus mode and scavenge mode really, and also i didnt buy l4d1 i just played it so i thought it would be good to actually buy it andi love versus mode gives a lot more variety with infected and they cant camp in a corner or i will spitz on them lol, its a pretty good game. 8/10
