Life is not a fairytale
so I could pretend to trip
and leave the other one
on your doorstep
and limp my way back home
As I carry a pumpkin with both hands
just so I could feel like a fairytale
told a million times over.
Yes I love happy endings
I just never had one
because I am no Cinderella
and fairy godmothers were warned
never to wave their wands
at any wish that came from my lips
because the tragedy in my voice
is far too lucid
and no magic would take effect.
I am hopeless.
I see no reason for you to love me
these cinders are all I have
and they're slowly being blown away
by the wind coming in through my broken window
I tried to fix it with my mosaic heart
laying on the floor
but everytime I picked up the pieces
they would break once more
so I decided to give it up
and just play dead with cinder tear stains
ornamented on my face
I waited for my glass slipper.
It never came back.
