The Fable developer has unveiled a new character via the games facebook page
"This Captain, whose name we won't reveal just yet, is a pretty angry man with a fierce smoking habit and wet boots," reads the caption accompanying the new screenshot. "Any feedback welcome as always!"​

“This Captain is a prety angry man...”

Our feedback would be 'great, as long as he's not voiced by Jonathan Ross.' What do you think? There'll be plenty more on Fable at next week's E3 - we'll be there in force, so look out for more on the game - and every other game in LA - only on Nowgamer.com.​

Not really that interesting but hopefully we learn who exactly this captain is very soon !

Yeah, I remember that in the OXM magazine a while back, awesome.

I still wonder if smoking itself will be a feature that the PC can engage in.

Well, since "Captain" is utterly devoid of identification branch-wise, and "Captains" in the Army and Marines are essentially peons, I can hope that he is a Captain of the Revenue Marine. Arr, we be killing pirates and taxing smugglers t'day. And saving the occasional drowning dumbass.

Not the Navy, of course. Who likes the navy?*

*I am fully aware that this is a British game and the utterly badass Revenue Marine and all that it became are a US innovation, but HEY. He could be a furriner.

i hope this means your character can endlessly puff on a cigar or cigarette as well. as an expression, or even a will spell! it would be worth fashioning my hero to look like spike spiegel with that feature alone!

Lionhead sent out a new Fable III image recently. Just the one. There's a good chance you've already seen it. However, you probably took one look and thought there wasn't much to discuss. Wrong.
After considerable extraneous ocular analysis, I've identified several points of interest in the picture that you may have missed. Observe the image below and then keep scrolling down for the 8 things you may have inadvertently unnoticed.​

I don't have anything against most of what Mr. 8 Things said, but two points:

Point #1, all the Fable games have had torches and **** in the middle of the woods. The alternative is darkness, so they seem to say, "sure, why the hell not?"

Point #2, I had the same thought about the uniform, but certain eras and types of leaders are infamous for having ridiculous uniforms. Plus, at the general tech level occupied by the Captain and Fable in general, officers would have bought their own uniforms, and could load them down with all the ****ty gold braid they could want, assuming it wasn't a genuine rank indicator which, honestly, it wasn't all of the time.

Plus, the genius said that the amount of gold braid was befitting a colonel. I'll give you three guesses what the navy rank that matches up with the Army/Marines/Air Force rank of colonel is. Yep. Cap'n.

That was, in a way, my point. That it didn't matter. Then I *****ed about the guy's bad point for way too long, screaming the whole time that it was stupid to be wasting time on that. Then I came back to this thread to see what you had said even though I said I was living.

There's actually a screenshot of the hero (in evil form) being attacked from the front and back. Behind him, a guy looks like he's attacking him with a lute. And he is wearing something VERY similar to the Welley outfit.
