Maelstrom (After switching from Good to Evil)

Okay, back-story, played through the game as Good, was 100% Pure and 100% Good. Spent some time doing the side quests, finished Knothole Island when it came out, got my dog back. Then I got bored, and started killing people in Bowerstone. 100% Evil and nearly 100% Pure (The Fanatic). Anyways, while I don't really need the weapon (Currently using Daichi), I'd like to get it. But, I can't seem to sacrifice people at the Temple of Shadows. The place is always full of Shadow creatures and Banshees, the wheel and lever are there, but the wheel doesn't turn when I have people in the circle. I'm currently working on moving from Pure to Corrupt to see if that opens it up. Any ideas?

You have to go up to the lever and press A on it to sacrifice the people in the circle.

Doesn't work, I took several people down there, pulled the lever multiple times trying to get it to work, nothing happened. Maybe I had too many people in the circle, don't think that's possible though. Just tested it again for good measure, nothing. I pull the lever down and nothing happens.

after u get to a certain part in the game, i think after the first visit to the spire, either the temple of shadows or light gets destroyed depending on which one you favored, at least thats what happened for me, when i got back the temple of light was rubble, couldn't get the special cleaver :(

That's probably it than, there is a Temple of Shadow guy standing down here, but he isn't doing anything. I'll check it out again when I get 100% corrupt.

yeah i think he gives u an evil task to be initiated into the temple, its hilarious what his reactions are

Alright, you went through the game as good, so i anticipate you choose to help the Temple of Light.

Meaning you can't get the Maelstorm, plain and simple.

When you help defend the temple of light, you get the light temple and lose the temple of shadows
-Or you help ToS destroy oakfield, and you lose the temple of light/oakfield but keep temple of shadows.

So, you get to keep your Temple of Light. You cannot get the Maelstorm unless you trade online.

And yes, if you didn't join ToS before the Spire, their is another reason you can't get it.

i went through the game as evil, and i joined the temple of shadows first now this is the problems i have:
the temple of shadows is full of shadows and banshees and undead
this is becuase i did a quest to stop the temple of shadows from destroying the wellspring not knowing it would destroy the temple, so now only the temple of light is still standing, as far as im concerned the rising sun is better becuase in the knothole island DLC you get a evil weapon like the mealstrom but more powerfull and better looking

and everything else in the DLC.

yup Wrethcers Blade: does 75 damage, does more damage to guards and villagers (as opposed to other creatures) and looks frikki sweett

I still got the Maelstrom and the rising sun.

I never said you can't get both.
You can easily do it by getting the maelstorm first than changing to good to get the rising sun, but as i was pointing out, it has too be before the spire.

I did, I was making it clear for anybody who tldr; your post. But yes, thank you. And I did both quests before going to the Spire. Just killl off some monks, kill off your wife and such then you'll get the Maelstrom at the temple, the donate some monies to the Temple of Light and then donate 10k to temple and presto, You got both weapons, and if you want to be totally evil just kill off villages.

if anyone wants a rising sun, i have a glitch on my system which means every time i go into oakfield, i get a rising sun. if anyone wants a rising sun, i would like a maelstorm
