marriage of inconvenience quest *some spoilers?*

It’s an early quest about you trying to seduce someone so they will divorce another. It got to a point where it asked me to propose to them and I really don’t want to but I really don’t want to. Any way out of it? (I heard killing her messes up the game somehow)
