Mass Effect 3 - Importing Deleting Saves

Just a question for anyone who bought, rented or played this game, which I will put below what I'm about to type.
I finished ME 1, imported into ME 2 and all of that went fine. When I bought ME 3 I went to import the save but I had no import options whatsoever. There were no error messages, anything about files being corrupted, I hadn't used cloud saving and I hadn't been using a modified save.
I went back and checked my save games in ME 2, and all of the profiles that I finished the game on had become corrupted.
As disappointed as I was, I finished ME 2 for the 7th time using the same save I'd imported for my now-corrupted save, and it decided to show up.
It would be nice to know that Bioware (Or EA?) hasn't caused me alone to waste another 20 hours playing ME 2 when I could've wasted that time time playing ME 3.
So the question I ask is, did this happen to anyone else?

Mine didnt recognise one of my saves but my other imported just fine.

Never happened to me before, when I booted up ME3 and it asked if I wanted to import my saves, it had both of my Male & Female Shepard playthroughs that I had completed from ME1 to ME2.

However, all the preceding playthroughs that I had not completed were entirely ignored (naturally).
