Microsoft To Cut Costs With 'Project Falcon'
Seems Microsoft are working on cutting the costs of the 360 and also the 360's dreaded red rings of death error at the same time with a project codenamed 'Project Falcon'. They will use new central and graphics processors that are manufactured in a 65-nanometer production process (as opposed to the older 90-nanometer processors which is in current models).
Basically meaning that the chips are smaller which means cheaper production costs, cooler running temperatures, increased reliability and increased space within the console. Which should bring an end to the dreaded red rings of death and also be a hint at a price drop from them too. As Sony just announced theirs for the PS3 http://forums.projectego.net/sony-cuts-price-ps3-eve-e3-4037/.
