Microsoft have today admitted they have been planning on giving all models of Xbox 360 a HDMI Port currently only found on the Elite version (UK release is August 24th). However with the Elite only being shipped in UK on that date the standard Xbox 360's arent likely to be updated with HDMI ports until next year.

Yes, we are offering an HDMI port for Xbox 360 simply as another choice in Xbox 360 owners' games and entertainment experience. Retailers are gradually introducing HDMI-enabled Xbox 360s into the channel to meet demand.

UK gamers should not expect to see HDMI-enabled Premium 360s until next year at the earliest. With the Elite console out on August 24 "HDMI Premiums might not start arriving until as late as summer next year.
