Mis-Adventure!

Well i will share a little tale of an adventure to my fellow comrades, it goes a little something like this.

Me and 3 other mates decided to go White water kayaking in queenstown, We kayaked the Kawarau river, Grade 3 to 3+, we kayaked the run at 250 cumecs, which is a pretty good water level and what-not.

We were all doing good in the rapids, then it came to dog leg, the famous grade 3+, I had kayaked it before, and did it all good! But something happened.

We all went down, Got to the end of it nearly then my friend came out of his kayak his deck imploded.. yeah right.. but anyway. so his kayak was floating down, so my friend went after the kayak and me and another mate went after our mate. he broke his finger, but was fine, then my mate who went after the kayak came out of his boat and then lost his boat but held onto my other mates kayak. he was stuck in an eddy (look it up if you dont udnerstand) so i went over, tied my boat to the spare boat, then got to a cliff of thorns and climbed up it, took a good 45 minutes to get out. we all made it out. but the reason why we were so scared when this was happening was that there was a grade 5-6 rapid a bit further down.. In another words, we would of died if we went down there, No exageration.

That was a fun time, Afterwards I drank my nerves away and hit the town.

Anyone else been on adventures?

Re: Mis-Adventure!

yeah i have my water rafting horror story.
i rafted the deschutes in Oregon 8-9 years ago. at the end of the guided tour they had a class 2 rapid that you could swim on if you had a life vest. well, my brother isn't a strong swimmer at all. and on top of that he's disabled. so he somehow ended up in line, and the guides didn't know, camp counselors weren't around. he ended up going down the rapid, but you have to swim hard at the end to get to shore, which he wasn't capable of. if the lifeguards hadn't acted quickly and gotten him out of there he would probably have drowned in the extremely rough currents up ahead.

there was a class 4 rapid full of dangerous rocks (which would go through a life vest like paper), and he was a kid who couldn't swim. do the math.
