Again the rumour flames are being fanned with speculation of the monster PC title Crysis heading to consoles.
CVG said:Crysis and Far Cry developer Crytek is unveiling a cross-platform version of its latest technology at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco next month.
Unless you've recently been born, you'll know that the proprietary tech - CryEngine 2 - is the engine behind Crysis.
A select GDC audience will witness CryEngine 2 running on Xbox 360 and PS3, news which has already set our speculation (and common sense) hats in a twirl.
Surely this is indication that Crysis is definitely console bound? Well, maybe.
Crytek's never said outright that its first-person shooter is heading to console, however it's not been afraid to discuss such hypothetically.
In October last year it revealed that a positive reception of the PC game would urge it to seriously consider delivering console versions.
"In order to make Crysis's gameplay [on console] you would have to make a derivative Crysis and optimise it for the Xbox 360 and PS3. In fact, if we do it, we'll optimise it for each platform", Crytek boss Cevat Yerli said at the time.
Recently, rumour that a 'Crysis 1.5' is in development for PS3 was doing the rounds.
Anyway, while the display of CryEngine 2 on PS3 and Xbox 360 will be restricted at GDC, the public gets to see "how well the fully optimised" engine can run on a PC costing around $600 - and that, folks, is complete with a keyboard and mouse!
