And before anyone says "That's not fun. This is years ago and modern names wouldn't fit!" this is why "Lionhead could have some fun with this." Since I'm Joe, I could choose Joelep... Or something more imaginative or better.
Well, their characters are already named things like "Theresa," "Garth," "Arthur," and so on. The most outlandish you get is probably "Garth," which is a real, if odd, name and "Maze."
Most people had generic Anglo-style names.

Lol really? It seemed like TLC had Way more. Like I was able to go down a long list. And Then there were different title vendors too. I go to the arena find a whole new set to choose from.
I guess you're right about certain stuff. Because Like many people, (like me) don't have English names
They broke it up more, but they had more. Just varied what you could choose with where you were.
But no, I like the titles. Having a limited number of names would end up seeming more restrictive, I think. Like I'm "Jesse" (but please stick to calling me Walker here, I'm more comfortable with that) and if they didn't hit that it'd annoy me. Or if I was named something else and they didn't have it. With the titles, no one had their real name, but most people could find some suitably heroic title to take.
And I'd like to point out that I never thought "Sparrow" was the F2 hero's actual birth name. It seemed like a nickname his/her sister gave him/her. Close enough to a birth name, but different. Possibly because a sparrow took a dump on his head, who knows?
