Morrowind.

Got bored of all my current games, and decided to dig through my pile o' games when I discovered this pearl. With all the talk about Oblivion picking my interested about this game I am glad I just didn't imagine buying it.

So I've installed the game, downloaded the Nude patch, Better Bodies and alot of graphically awsome heads for my characters and I am rearing to go.

But Jebus, I discovred what turned me off the game the first time: I am lost! After sticking around the beach, killing crabs and whatnot, I am lost. I have absolutlety no idea where to go...at all.

Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelp....*fades away in the wast wilderness of Morrowind*

Re: Morrowind.

Ahhhh, Morrowind. A freaking awesome game (though I'm sorry to say it can't compare to Oblivion). This has happened to me countless times, the reason I am continually creating new profiles again and again. The thing that keeps the game going for me is modding. Hey, if you can make a giant freakin' monster and a really cool sword, then you know what to do. Might I suggest going to a guild (Me likey Mage's Guild) and picking up a questline you may not have known before (that is if you aren't so lost to where you can't find a city!). Also, if you use the console cheat (press ~ key) and type in 'coc balmora' you might find yourself a new start. Or restart a new profile and see what you've been missing and catch up a bit before reverting back to your favorite profile. If all else fails, try to find a guide online or something. It might refresh you. ;)

Re: Morrowind.

Well, seeing how old Morrowind is its no wonder it can't stand up against Oblivion.

And hehe, I've created countless profiles, and I've probably killed those crabs a couple of hundered times spread out.

I get to the Guilds, but there are some quest where you have to gather some flowers, but I can't figure out where...The game is(perheps intentionally) very vauge in describing quests/directions...

Re: Morrowind.

Amen to that. The whole entire game is fricking vague! All you know from the start is that you have to go visit Cosades-whatshisname in Balmora about something. When you get there, you're instantly plunged into a crappy slough of fedex quests and random pointless things. Morrowind has... good points, not really any I can name right now, because I am still extremely angry about the beyond- sucktastic combat system. If it wasn't for mods (or becoming a werewolf), then I would have thrown the game out the window so long ago.

Re: Morrowind.

ok tsuyu this happend to me 2 it took me 2 days to figure it out u go on the map and look for a city west of imperial city and it has a red marker there

and oblivion can be VERY confusing...

Re: Morrowind.

Well I'm glad to here it wasn't just me. I think I'll give Morrowind another try when I get my 360

Re: Morrowind.

Got to bare with it as its an ENORMOUS game that takes some practice to get used to, same as Oblivion.

Re: Morrowind.

Ok. Update: Got a bit into it with an Orc "Warrior". But I have a problem. Each time I try to fight another humaniod enemy they seem to always knock me down and I have no chance to fight back....

How do I do this to them, and how can I avoid it?

Re: Morrowind.

Your'e an Orc Warrior............do you use the Berserk spell?

It's kick-*** it boosts all of you combat skills/attributes up aolt but later your fatigue will drop massivly that may be why you keep getting knocked out.

(to knock out/down NPCs use a blunt weapon or your fists/claws and swing them HARD)

The flowers you need to find are all found between Balmora and Hla Oad and the Mushrooms are all found in Seyda Neen...

;)

Re: Morrowind.

or your agility is just crap any way all my characters fight on the ground in that game
but beserk can do it to, drain agility for 100 points is horrible
i am usualy a orc mage with the appentice weakness to magic 100
so i don't use berserk alot any way unless i have to

Re: Morrowind.

ive pretty much memorized then entire morrowind game so listen
When you start out make your character like your supposed to when you go in the room with the dining table where you get the daggar there is also a lock pick on the left side of the table pick it up and use it on the mini chest on the bottom of the shelf behind where you picked up the daggar. Then go outside inbetween the 2 buildings look inside the barrel and take the magic ring (there is an entire easy quest for this but it might be a bit complicated for the beginning unless youve played a while) ANYWAY bonus the ring is a healing ring. Okay in that chest you unlocked was i believe 32 gold use that on the slith rider the giant bug things that load you between towns its visible from the town but can be tricky to find. Once you find it talk to the guy by the giant bug up on the platform and go to balmora once in balmora there are multiple guilds to join such has House Hlaalu (although i reccomend House Redoran and you cant change once you join) Fighters Guild, Mages guild, And if you find Cauis Cosades in the corner of the town you can start the main quest. Well I hope this gets you started if you get stuck anywhere just private message me and ill be happy to turn on my game and figure it out.
