Holy cows, anyone ever seen this movie? I am a tough guy who can take almost any movie with a sneer or a smile, but this one...Gah! For some reason it scares the living daylight out of me!

I can take slasher movies, I can take slimey-alien themed movies, but this one was something...extra...I won't be sleeping tonight...:'(

Ive always aimed to watch it but always forgot when i got into the video store. Im going to HAVE to rent it out now you said that!

Awesome movie, cant say it has been the most scariest thing I have watched or that even kept me awake but it was pretty edgy. The end was interesting, heck I really want to see it again now, its been ages since I last saw it....

Looking up the movie on Wikipedia, I've actually learnt it is based on a book - but only roughly 10% of what happens in the book makes it into the movie.

I think I'll try to get my hands on that!

From my recallection the phone calls and the sink scene were pretty damn creppy.... I think there is a sink scene? Is there a sink scene?

Could be an interesting read, you dont happen to know the Authors name?

And now I know why this movie freaks me out. It's the same with Signs - you get clues all the times that the "monster" is there, like hearing it's creepy voice and stuff, but you never ever get to see it even once.

I don't know why, I guess it's the whole "We're afraid of the unknown" concept...*shrugs*

Dude, Signs wasnt scary at all, well in saying that the build up was good and when the final glimpse of an alien on a tape at that kids birthday party showed up it freaked me totally out. IT was pretty scary and the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre, thats awesomeness right there- they both scared me so damn bad ^_^

Cheers for the name, must see if I can get my hands on that book next time I go anywhere that has books

The original Alien was one of the first movies to bring about that 'what you cant see scarces the **** out of you' concept. It was famed for that but once you have seen the thing which is there it looses a lot of the edge. Aliens for example wasnt scary because the creatures were present from the start and most people watching had probably seen the originaly movie meaning they knew what the Alien was like and what to expect.

I like that movie.......not scary though....
Based on a true story..........happend in....Virginia I beleive....
