My family is missing? Will i ever see my son?

I got married to my husband, but he cudn't have a child after ages of tryin.
So i married a new man and had a son after our first try.
I only spent a day wiv my baby and den went away for 10 years.
When i came back Hammer told me my son shud be 10 and den suggested i go see my family. The thing sed dat they were at cemetry road, but i cudn't fast travel. They weren't there. While doing the mission with the banshee she sed my son's body is scattered in a tomb or sumfin. Is it true? Is he dead? I don't care about the husband, i just want to find my son lol. They r still on da families thing on da menu.
Do i have to complete the last quest or sumfin?

Well i have heard about other peoples families disappearing. Never happened to me though.

Yeah i heard ders lots of glitches when it comes to da families.
I never got 2 see my son T_T

yea, my son just sorta up and dissapeared one day... my daughter is still there though.. lol

on a somewhat related note, my brother has an extra kid. so i guess someone out there is missing a son that now lives in my brothers world. he is well taken care of, my bro is good.

You can go into quests on the menu, and towards the bottom is listed families. This should tell you their status. To my knowledge, children cannot die. The banshee has said horrible things about my children too, but they are fine. If your child is listed then he is alive. It will also tell you the condition of your spouse. Even if you can't fast travel, you should be able to set your breadcrumb trail to lead to your family. Occasionally they disappear and come back... I've never actually lost a family with no trace. May also try sleeping in your marital home, that fixed it for me. Best of luck!
