New here and to fable !

Hey guys, i'm new here and new to fable in general and have a few questions :P

-I have yet to actually play fable, I downloaded it on the xbox originals in the marketplace after I saw fable 2 on the gdc coverage on g4. I won't be able to play it untill friday, will I be impressed? [I LOVE roleplaying games and oblivion was amazing]

-QUICK which is better fable or oblivion !!? lol.

- Why is it that this game gets positive reviews yet when you actually watch the reviewer they seem like they hate the game? [example: gamespot review]

Oh and i have one comment. Fable 2 looks like it will be an AMAZING game and possibly even better than oblivion? But, you BEST be able to co-op via, xbox live or I will lose a lot of respect for it lol. Anyone else hoping that it's able to be played on xbox live?

If it's Just fable the original. I wouldn't be hoping for much. You should have gotten Fable TLC. IF you did. Awesome. It's worth it. I think but doubt you'll be SUPER impressed. The first time I played the game I had a blast. The reason I joined this forum.

Most would Say oblivion's better because it has more options, better graphics, and what not. But they're really too differen't to compare. And I hate Comparing Games.

The game gets positive reviews, but most people are let down with things. The creator of the game would hype up the game too much and the game wasn't what everyone expected.

And fable 2 will be amazing. ^_^ Welcome to the forum

You'll definitly be impressed.I like Fable better but...That's just me.And I never seen a review soo...idk.

You start out as a boy and you need to do good deeds ( or bad ) to get money for your sister,Theresa.After that, bandits come and destroy the villiage.You'll find your father dead,and a person name Maze will teleport you to the Hero's Guild!And you'll start your guild training.

yeah my questions have been answered pretty much, i would like to know some more of you guy's opinions on oblivion vs. fable. I personally WANT to like this game really really bad. [i can't say that i WANT to like a game very often] I love the whole idea that your character changes and stuff and i like the sounds of the summoning system [where your summon transforms if it kills something stronger than itself]. I also really want fable 2 to be an oblivion killer. don't get me wrong i loved oblivion I just really wanted to have online co op [hopefully this will have it online] and it just seems like fable 2 will have more features. i guess i'll find out if i like the original fable on friday lol.

Oblivion versus Fable? I never really liked Oblivion...But Fable was a blast! I personally liked the ->NAME OF EVIL GUY

Well, Fable 2 WILL have co-op, just probably not online... Do you have any idea how freaking hard it would be to get all those barrels and chests to sync? Would be ridiculous. It would be incredibly complicated on one system. How would it choose who's 'world' it is? You can't BOTH own a house...You can't BOTH have the same wife... See my points?

I think Oblivion was better.
I prefer the Oblivion combat system, it's more challenging.
I also like the ability to explore, which you really can't do too much of in Fable.

Fable is a good game though, it's definitely worth playing.

Well I haven't played oblivion yet but I am downloading it it should be done in a week and hopefully I can play it and like it lol :P. I still can't find a game that beats fable TLC coz something about it...it's just verry positive. Like the world of fable might not be that exploreble but still it looks very amazing. It's kinda like one of those places some of us always wantted to live in but never could. Then fable came out and the first time I played it (on my bday to my fav band limp bizkit) I became really happy. It was like I was in that world and no one bothered me ^_^.

Welcome to the forums - as for the Oblivion/Fable thingy I'd say take them both as separate games with their own strengths and weaknesses - comparing them will most likely end up detracting from one or the other and reducing your enjoyment of both.

Welcome to the forums and I definably like fable alot (I can't say I love it (it is a game after all)) TLC was alot better then the original though I do believe fable 2 will be an oblivion killer if compared.

it wouldn't be too hard for them to make it online, they handle mmorpg's and those are thousands of players at once, 2 people at the same time shouldn't be a problem. also the dude hinted at it being online cuz he said "being able to play online that would be fantastic wouldnt it !" or something along those lines.

i played fable this weekend and it's pretty good. I think that some of the things could have been explained more thoroughly and i HATE how you cant start a quest and then leave to do soemthing else OR even save during a quest but, it's a good game so far.

comparing fable to oblivion is like comparing jimmy hendrix to Eddy Van halen,it can't be done!they are both awesome at the type of game they are,yeah,both are rpgs,but different kinds.fable is a looser rpg cause you can kill whoever the hell you want and the game still continues,in oblivion,kill a main quest and it's all shot to H-E-double hockey sticks.(i think?)but i like fable because it gives detailed instructions,in tes3 and tes4,they say go north and find a small hole the size of a hamburger.fable tells you where exactly to go,you like exploring?prolly tes4.but i didn't care for tes4's questing system as many of my friends did,cause i didn't posses the giant super-natural space brain necessary to instictivley know somethign that's never been mentioned before.


....so fable for me =D

Hmm well i'm still downloading Oblivion so......annyways annyone seen those videos of Fable 2 the online mode. It's sick that other player can kill your family and stuff.......lol ...I wonder if I can screw my friends wife and then .....kill his child ....and burn his house down :) hehehe. Well exploring in Fable is fun but in Fable 2 exploring will be even more fun coz now we can go behind the houses and go into the forest no more walls..that dont let us pass. It's gonna be a bomber! Fable 2 is becoming kinda like GTA but diffrent graphics and things and story..:P Grand Theft Avos :P.

Well I think Fable, But then again that's because I've never heard of Oblivion. :P

But Fable, oh man one of my all time favourite games!
