There are alot of rumors and buzz around Nintendo's next console which is being called the Nintendo NX. Many are sure that it will be announced this year and released around the holidays. The premise is that it will function like a backwards Wii U, with a tablet like device as the main component for play that then can be docked to a console that would allow more demanding games to be played.
It sounds interesting and I haven't played a Nintendo game besides Pokemon since the GameCube. I wasn't impressed by the original Wii, with the mini game demo that came with every console being about the most fun you could have with its joysticks and the Wii U not even a competitor in the console market. I really want to show Nintendo some love, with the most recognizable franchises and mascots under its belt I hope they drop the gimmicks and make a platform developers can thrive on.
