new to this game

Haven't played many ARPG games except Diablo II for like half a year and Runescape. Bought TLC last summer but haven't played it for more than half an hour because I'm not very used to the system:

1. In Diablo2, players obtain godly weapons from billions rounds of boss runs. Is it the same in Fable or can you obtain every weapon from stores or quests?

2. Also in D2, players get five new stat points and one new skill point (I guess it's called spell points in Fable) to invest every time the character levels up (max character level 99). What's it like in Fable?

3. Also relates to leveling up. In D2, more experience points are required for higher character levels. For example, 1000 experience points might be needed to go from lvl1 to lvl2 but 10000000000 expiernce points are needed to for from lvl90 to lvl91. What's the difference in TLC?

4. In terms of stats point distribution, D2 also has strength, mana, life, and dexterity. The norm in D2 is to invest no points in mana, only enough strength and dex points to wear armor and wield weapon, and put the rest into life. Same in TLC?

5. In D2, you don't invest a lot of points in skills (or spells as in Fable) earlier on because the early skills usually suck. For example, ice shot (obtained at character level1)-->Ice blast(obtained at character lvl8-->blizzard(obtained at character lvl30). So basically in D2, you just save all the skill points until you get to lvl 30 and invest all of them in blizzard. What about Fable though? Seems every skill is important.

Thanks.

Hello; Welcome; and Thank You for your Query :);
1: In Fable all Weapons can be purchased from Stores; found in Chests; behind Demon Doors; or from Quests;
2: There are 6 Levels for Will; Strength; and Skill in Fable; you have to buy each Level before you can Upgrade to the next; Experience is gained whilst playing the Game normally; Points are Gained just by using Spells; Melee; and Ranged Weapons;
3: The Experience Points needed to Level Up are not as high as in D2; but a significant number will be needed to reach Level 6;
4: As mentioned before; Points are in 3 areas; Will (Mana); Strength; and Skill (Dexterity);
5: In Fable there are a Number of Spells; but yes; you don't have to Max them all; you can choose which oned you like Most and invest in those;
Physical Shield is a Must; Enflame is Excellent; Summon is Cool;
It is Best to Max Strength and Skill

Hope that helps a little :);

Re: new to this game

In Fable it doesn't really matter what skills you pick, the game isn't that hard nor that long. The only skill you really need is life as monsters through out the game will deal more and more damage as you progress through the game.

Fable doesn't even come close to being hard and long. It easy and short enough that you can play it once through for fun without fear of messing up any perfectionism you wish to achieve. The system is very versatile and easy to play with. I suggest you just play through the game once normally and do however you feel, and then play it a second time through with what you have in mind. But really, you can easily max everything. The only drawback of this is your appearance. The only reason you wouldn't max everything is appearance.

But yeah, it's simple enough and based on the player so that there is no true "perfect build". Fable is pretty obvious too. There aren't many secrets (except for perhaps the Silver Keys), and if you play through Fable as if it were a regular RPG (scanning every part of the area that you see on your map), you shouldn't miss much.
