New Tomb Raider Coming for Xmas 2011?
Apparently, Crystal Dynamics is hard at work on the next installment in the core Tomb Raider series according to Eurogamer, with the game due to drop in time for Christmas 2011.
An unknown source told the site that the US developer is working exclusively on the next chapter in the long-running franchise, although rumours that the subtitle will be 'Downfall' remain unfounded.
Additionally, concept art - "some" of which relates to the new Tomb Raider says the source - has appeared on ex-Crystal Dynamics artist Joel Boucquemont's website, depicting possible environments - including a neon-drenched city street - for the possible Tomb Raider reboot.
If the source is credible, the a new Tomb Raider featuring a "young and inexperienced Lara Croft" exploring tombs beneath an island off the coast of Japan could be on the cards for holiday 2011, although publisher Square Enix declined to comment on what for now, we'll chalk up as rumour.
