New Xbox 360 Update

Hey, go check out the new Xbox 360 Kinect Update! Bring tissues because you'll cry tears of frustration when it's finally done! Boy oh boy I thought Microsoft sucks but goddamn son, after this update it showed the true face of stupidity. I think I cried over 9000 tears while attempting to update all my new avatar clothes. I'm not sure if Microsoft could have done a suckier job! Avatars look like they're ten feet tall and have small heads, avatar clothes have problems updating, everything is so goddamn white it looks like Apple came up in this bitch and designed it. Jesus H Christ can someone please explain to me how even though I still turn my Turtle Beaches on practically the lowest volume, it's still loud as a bitch in party chat.

I hate this update so badly, sharp squares < round corners.

What the hell man? WHAT THE HELL?! So ugly! What's with all the dull white and grey colours everywhere? I hate it! It looks awful...
 
Doesnt look to pretty but the updated features are decent and runs smoother.
 
The way they just used plain white as background for 90% of all the menus just boggles the mind due to the crapfactor of it all...

Yeah id agree with that, im not a fan of white.
 
I know, a lot of my post was just me using exaggeration and being sarcastic cause I was bored. But in all honesty I dislike it, there's way too much white. White is a cool color when it is used right, not when it's used on everything and anything like this one.

Currently, everything is going super slow because of all the people using the update. I've already gotten around three to four Status Code errors. Ah, oh well.

Azer, most people like it? Where are you getting that from? You may have talked to a few buds about it but that doesn't count as most, pretty much everyone I've come in contact with who has talked about the update says it sucks.
 
Mine keeps giving me a god damned error saying that it can't update, even though my internet connection is fine. God dammit.
 
Aw, I guess I'm in the minority that likes it. I like simplistic, and this new interface does move faster than the previous interface (which I thought was an ugly interface to begin with). I don't mine the white & grey backgrounds, but I do wish we could customize the colors ourselves.. I don't know why they never give us such an option.

On the subject of Avatars, yeah, they look really creepy now with the extra long limbs.. just, doesn't look right all stretched, I liked their bobblehead-esque appearance much better (as lame as they were).
 
I like it. It seems to run a lot faster than the other one so far. And I like the square shape.

But I want mah ****in' blades back!
 
I haven't been able to see it due to my lack of Xbox internet connection.
 
This update has nice new features, but the over use of the white on friggin' everything is HURTING my eyes. I go to scroll through the dash and I constantly have to look away. It's painful.
 
I wouldn't have minded the look of it if I hadn't realized that it was a blatant ripoff of the Wii. The dull white/grays, the childish background music, and the creepy avatars. Microsoft isn't even trying to satisfy their base of hardcore gamers, I feel like such a tool navigating through the nauseatingly Wii-like menus.
 
I find that it makes the internet run slower. It took a good hour for it to update, this was when I wanted to play Fable III as well so it was very annoying. But I do I agree that the color schemes they used really suck and are boring. Do only the new consoles get this update, or is it all of the consoles?

I'm not really seeing the similarities in the new dashboard & the Wii.. The avatars yeah (and the electronic baby music that plays when creating one), but the dashboard seemed like an obvious design clone of Windows Media Center mixed with the skin of Zune Software.

But I have to agree, the all-white can get painful to look at after a good while and I noticed one can get dizzy when flipping through the cards of a channel (especially the My Xbox channel). But to be honest, I'll take this over the original NXE dashboard any day.

I see no similarities with the Wii and if there were; I don't care. This market is all about taking ideas and developing them in your own way. Nobody cares. At last, the new dashboard looks cleaner, smoother and faster, it's great and an improvement from the last one.

Then it might be just me, but having owned a Wii in the past, I see and hear many similarities. From the soft corners, soft color palate, to the innocent toddler-toy sounds whenever I select something. It would be great if they were developing their own ideas, but (at least to me) it seems that they're attempting to tap into the larger audience of people who enjoy games like Kinectimals. Unfortunately that means they'll keep sacrificing the dashboard environment that made the 360 special, once again this is just my opinion and I hope what I think I'm seeing is due to paranoia on my part.
