Re: Newest

love it, very artistic and such

Re: Newest

I agree, great blend of colors. She's lovely.:)

Re: Newest

Nice job man! +rep for sure. The only thing I'd suggest is making the "real" side a little less realistic. Like maybe add a border over there or some really faint effects. Just something to make it look like more than a stock picture of some plants. I'm not trying to say anything bad about it; It looks awesome, I'm just giving some constructive criticism. I will say that I love your avatar. Did you make that as well? Also, what program are you using to make these images?

It's alright, i receive constructive critism all the time on graphics forums ^^. But i went for the less is more with this sig. Mainly because of the concept i wanted. shes opened a gate into a secret garden sort thing, hence the gate shes leaning against on the left.

Yeah i made my avatar to, was originally a picture of my eye :). I use Photoshop CS2. :)

@§ephiroxa§ How come you don't reply on msn?

Thanks for your comments guys.

Ahh, I see now. I didn't realize that was a gate. :ermm:

Re: Newest

Some of the colors are nice, but it could use better blending and definitely some better lighting applied to it. The glowing green symbol is a nice touch, but ruins the focal and causes distraction (not a good spot you chose to place it). Your cutout could use more blending, as it looks like you just pasted it in with little effort applied to it afterwards.

Feels rather flat overall, and could use more depth to it. Take advantage of the Burn, Dodge, Blur, Sharpen tools.. explore some more filters, and get familiar with other techniques (such as clipping masks, smudging, gradient maps, photo filters, etc).

Not bad, but try and work at it some more.

Re: Newest

I am familiar with all the tools.

I am rated intermediate on alot of gfx forums. Filters are only helpful considering what type of sig you are making. A render does not have to be enshrouded with effects to be blended. This tag is a realism piece, if it was heaped with filters and clipping masks, it would ruin the composition completely, distract the eye from the focal, and ruin the tag. Please don't insinuate that i do not know my way around photoshop.

Depth is there, both with the shadows and the garden stock receeding. Lighting is also, as its to a natural level, if anymore was added it would appear fake and too intense. This tag has been rated low intermediate. I am also a classer and can say that your current sig is low moderate at best. So please do not assume i am new to photoshop or do not now all the tools and what it can do. It's insulting.

Keep in mind it is only my opinion (and not meant to be taken as a fact), try not to take offense to it.

But I'm going to be dead honest with you. With your current sig, you may be classed as an intermediate (by their standards) at those places, but at other places you would be classed as a novice (not to be mean or anything). It lacks proper blending for the kind of sig you made, and doesn't feel very natural. Her natural lighting does not correspond with the background lighting either.. as you can see.. her natural lighting is coming from both the left & right. as opposed to your lighting which is only focusing on the top-right corner of her.

There is (in my opinion, and others) a lack of a proper focal, with all the other different random bright places in the sig, they distract way too much. Filters, Gradient Maps, etc are your friend when trying to attain realism with various pieces. She just looks slapped onto 2 different backgrounds, with little effort applied (even if you did apply alot of effort to it). That green symbol is one of my biggest gripes about it.. it's placement pretty much ruins the sense of realism, it's a bright addition but yet reflects no lighting onto anywhere of her.. it just looks odd in it's current placement.

As for the depth... there's alittle bit of a depth in there with the background stock, but not enough to keep it from feeling flat.

It's one thing to over do it with special effects that it looks too crowded, fake, and unappealing.. And it's another to leave it too simple, flat, and unappealing.
