Just wanted to show this off.

I recently got my computer up and running, all brand new parts, but one of the things I just did this morning was I OverClocked my CPU (Processor). It's an AMD Phenom II x6 core 1055T processor, that runs stock at 2.8GHz. Well, this morning, I decided to OverClock and I got this bad boy up to 3.7GHz. It's fast, stable, and a beast.

Here's a screen shot of my CPU Specs:

and here's a Screen Shot of my Temperatures:

I'm getting GREAT temperatures, thanks to my case the Cooler Master HAF 922 AND one of the best Air Coolers (Heatsink and fans) out there, the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus.

Here's some pics of the CPU Cooler:

Can't overclocking it **** it up?

Can't overclocking it f*** it up?
Yes and no.

As long as you got a good CPU cooler and a good case, you should be fine. You need to know what you're doing. It's actually pretty simple once you get the hang of it. Once you mess with your BIOs, got all the right voltage and speed you want your CPU and Motherboard to work at, go into Windows. If Windows doesn't crash, you're almost stable. That's when you go through stress testing using programs like OCCT and even some Benchmarking programs.

Once you can run these stress tests with no fails, it's considered 100% Stable and if you leave it as is, you have a great working CPU.

Like mine was on sale for under 200 dollars, I bought it, it's the cheapest 6 core out on the market right now. I overclocked it to 3.7GHz, it runs stable after a few tests, and the temperatures are actually extremely well (I was surprised), and it runs a few hertz above the most expensive 6 core out in the market. I saved myself a few hundred dollars getting the cheaper one and just OverClocking it.

Now, the old CPU's back in the day, when you OC them, even at a "stable" OC, OC'ing kills their life expectancy; It's no longer the case with modern day CPU's, unless, of course, you're doing the entire extreme OC'ing (Above 6.0GHz), which normally takes more than just Water Cooling to keep at good temperatures.

Oh, I see. So basically, if I tried to overclock my CPU, I would **** it up

I need a good gaming PC. I got a crappy XP one that barely plays 3D games.

Another computer nut? I got one of those at home :)

He's just had his new graphics card delivered, is waiting for his new hard drive to make it 3 in his giant weird box thing that makes the computer go and I am SO SICK of hearing him try to explain what's so great and exciting about it all.

Then again, I play Age of Mythology and Mine Craft - nothing else. But I have pretty colours on my screen, so that's surely all any female needs from her computer setup :D

Sounds like a blessing. I'M the tech-savvy one in my family, and I can barely work firefox.

Oh it's handy alright. Unless he feels the need to explain in minute detail the how's and why's of every dumb little thing. then it's just torture...

Hahaha!
I totally do that to my wife.

I bet she secretly yawns.

Anyway, I also OverClocked my Graphics Card:
