Nostro's sword edit

I tried this before i posted.. But im not very good with blender..
But i was wondering if someone could get rid of the little half circle parts on the sword?

Not the guard.. But the part under it that makes a half circle.. I think the sword would look alot better if that would be removed..

Would be great if any one could do that
i dont know if its a matter of editing or what.. But if its too much work then just dont worry about it.
And also can you make the guard it self flat? Like straight across but have the same length and width?
So its not sticking up?

Well... Me and blender sure and heck dont mix Lol. I cant make heads or tails on it. Was reading the wiki on using it and what not on tlc mod site.
I was trying to delete it and make a new guard. But honestly i dont have a clue on how to do it. Im still reading it now tho,
