Not giving me my sword back

When i first visited Bowerstone South the gaurd told me that weopens were not allowed, so he took my weopens (wich was my longbow & longsword) when I left I only recieved my bow&arrow. I've been in and out of the city and still have not recieved my sword, i'm not a fan of the bow&arrow. I would like a sword, and all i have is a stick, but sadly that has a low attack :P. I've also tried buying a sword from a trader but i will buy it and i will never have it, and i can sell it like i DO have it. I am tired of using a stick and the stick isnt really helping me with some missions. I have Fabel 1 bor the xbox. Do i need to do anything to get my sword back? I tried talking to the guards and they say 'hi' . PLease helllp! thanks any suggestions?

Try going into your menu and weapons, equipping the sword. (Not to treat you like an idiot, but I've overlooked things before too.) If it's that big a deal, start another save. That's never happened to me before.

It really does sound about right. If you use a cross bow, you dont see the arrows, if you dont leave the city, you wont get your weapons back.
