Not the brightest bulb...

Guess who did the stupidest thing yesterday?

As it snowed rather heavily for the first time in AGES, I didn't bother sending the kid to school and once Steve had gone to work, I got dressed and went over to my mate's house up the road. We all decided to take two sledges, five kids and ourselves down to the park to slide down the slope and build a snowman. Having been incapacitated with a bad back for however long, I felt a little better and thought the exercise would do me good and might limber my spine up a bit.

I'll never learn.

Unable to control myself, I took a sledge to the top of a very long alley way that led from some houses down to the slope in the park, sat on it with this kid who wouldn't stop bugging me and off we went (my kid was busy having a tantrum coz snow is cold. Her intellect astounds me daily).

Now some moron chav and his equally idiotic companion decided to jump on their sledge about two feet in front of us as we were going down and so I yelled at them to move. Then, the annoying child I was with decided she wanted to get off, so she made a dive for it, the chavs swerved off course and I went head first into a fence. Did that deter me? No, because I am an idiot.

Instead, I went even higher up the alley this time, set off on my own and within about 30 seconds had come off, flipped over in an action movie stylee and crashed, back first this time, into a tree. I am now worse off than when I started and Steve has to literally help me do everything...it's like being a million years old...:realmad: So if I'm not online for large chunks of time it's coz I'm about as mobile as a mountain.

Some good news though - I managed to run over that annoying child on my way down...always a silver lining, people, never forget that

Re: Not the brightest bulb...

That's epic. Truly epic. We've also got a ton of snow falling over Sweden the last couple of days, and me and my mates just couldn't resist.

However, a sledge isn't built for a big beefcake of a 17 years-old like myself, letalone all of my mates at the same time... One sat down, two rolled onto his lap sideways and then I sat on them, with the last guy on the shoulders of the first one.

Re: Not the brightest bulb...

Oh my god. That sounds like hell.

I'm sorry you're having such bad luck Glad to see you back for a bit though.

Re: Not the brightest bulb...

It is somewhat debilitating but it's been 7 years now so it's not all bad. Last night was horrible - every time I wanted to turn over in bed I had to wake Steve up and then as soon as he'd moved me, I wanted to change again. Don't think he was best pleased...

Missing the snow....it's so pretty!

Too bad about your back, go to a chiropractor or something.

Chiropractors temporarrily releave the pain. they also make your back worse, which in turns ends with you visiting them all the time.

Re: Not the brightest bulb...

Oh, that sucks...

Be a man, face the pain!:D

Re: Not the brightest bulb...

Sorry to hear that Angel. I hurt my back once just reaching up to grab a clip board. I immediately when to the ground in agony. I was out of work for three days. On the third day my boss came to my house to check on me. I had to crawl to the front door to let him in then slowly back to bed. On one of the nights I woke up and couldn't feel or move either of my legs. I fought for over three hours to get them back moving and have feeling return. It was pretty scary.

Re: Not the brightest bulb...

Yea that was 15 years ago Weird thing is I used to have dreams of being paralyzed all the time before that. I haven't had one since.

Re: Not the brightest bulb...

Wow perhaps its your Guardian Angel warning you.

Re: Not the brightest bulb...

Perhaps but of what?? Don't reach up for clip boards LOL

Re: Not the brightest bulb...

Lol, I dunno, trying to warn you that you could have been paralysed had you not fought to regain the use of them.
