Oakfield Economic Stimulus (spoiler alert)

In another thread I mentioned that in my 2nd (evil) hero game, I did the Oakfield Massacre. In my 1st hero game I was good/pure and Oakfield was by far my favorite place.

After OM, I was devastated at what happened to Oakfield, even after buying all building/shops and going to the Spire.

So even though I am evil, I have set about testing the game to see if I can "rebuild" Oakfield by improving the economy.
I lowered all rents to -50, all shops to -40, I handed everyone in town $100 gold, I work at the woodchopper and bartender jobs (screwing up now and then so I don't really profit) and decorated all homes to total luxury furniture. I have bought out shops (produce, gifts, clothing and weapons) in Fairfax and Bowerstone Market and sold all to Oakfield. I then repurchase and resell to Bloodstone.

In the 3-4 months Albion time that I have done this, no lie, Oakfield is actually starting to improve.
1. The fields had no plants or anything. Now I see lines from sowing and some equipment appeared. One field has some plants.
2. Rabbits appeared.
3. Near fences, walls and near buildings there had been no or really brown crappy vegetation. Now there are dandelions and scattered blue flowers.
4. It was grey, cloudy/foggy. Now you can see the Spire and wispy clouds with blue sky peeking through during day and stars at night.

I will keep watching the progress and report if fully successful. If I am successful, I think I will do a new hero, perform the quest again and document the changes with camera.

If anyone else has done this, I would like to know. I find it fascinating that you do have such an affect and think that you could reverse it and make the good Oakfield crappy by reversing the whole thing and not doing the Massacre.

Re: Oakfield Economic Stimulus (spoiler alert)

sounds interesting if i ever wanted to make my world like like a peaceful place

but i would rather it look like a blazing inferno

Re: Oakfield Economic Stimulus (spoiler alert)

My Oakfield looked like a few years after a major fire or nuclear event

Re: Oakfield Economic Stimulus (spoiler alert)

yea thats how mine is now, i thought they would do a little more with the environments though, like a redd-ish sky, orange clouds kinda deal, make it look corrupted

Re: Oakfield Economic Stimulus (spoiler alert)

Well being evil is just so fun. BURN DOWN OAKFIELD! Bloodstone is teh best :)

Re: Oakfield Economic Stimulus (spoiler alert)

yea it is, bloodstone is the only place where i can run around freely promoting violence without being harassed by lousy pirate cops

Re: Oakfield Economic Stimulus (spoiler alert)

Give everyone in Oakfield 1 mil in gold!!

Re: Oakfield Economic Stimulus (spoiler alert)

Man yall really go all out with your evil or good people on my evil and good the lowest i have gotten a economy is 2 stars :(

Re: Oakfield Economic Stimulus (spoiler alert)

That is AMAZING. Please get proof. You won't be able otget the 3 or 4 new houses from saving oakfield the quest way but if you can make it pretty again it would eb great, I pwned the place with my aggressively bisexual, sadistic, alcoholic bandit queen and I'd like it a little prettier.

Re: Oakfield Economic Stimulus (spoiler alert)

I just Fire AOE everyone at the Gypsy Camp then run all over the corpse :)

Re: Oakfield Economic Stimulus (spoiler alert)

Irrelevant but still lulzworthy. Maybe if we kill all the gypsies now, modern-day Albionw on't have pikies!

Damn pikies.

Re: Oakfield Economic Stimulus (spoiler alert)

I just moved my family (monogomous since The Choice) to Oakfield to see if that promotes more economy. I checked Oakfield vegetation to my evil impovement project to my good Oakfield and it matches. Something is different in lighting/overall greyness to keep it looking crappy.

Sucks I won't get the Oak to grow or get the extra homes.

Re: Oakfield Economic Stimulus (spoiler alert)

my oakfield just looks gray.....
