the woman debating in this video is a strong running contender for the Delaware state senate for the "Tea party" political party. she's being personally supported by *surprise* Sarah Palin, and the scary thing is she may actually win... effectively representing 1/100th of the US population. that may not sound like much, but the average citizen holds roughly 1/310,526,000.
CNN reaction to the debate: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ogjIkUJk4Zw
roughly quoting an interview reaction to sarah palin (the person who said it escapes me)
normally it wouldn't be right to poke fun at the less fortunate. but when it comes to putting someone in a position of power their intelligence SHOULD come into question. with Sarah Palin, it's like one of those nonanimated disney movies where she gets the nation into trouble and somehow her experiences with hockey, driving in the snow, or other useless talents you get from living in a particular region save the day. this isn't like that, and the thought of her having legislative influence is beyond my worst nightmare.
and now consider her campaign video, where she assures the citizens of Delaware that she is not a witch. (even though she's referring to practicing wicca it's still a dumb campaign strategy)
