Oh fantastic...

I have a vegetable kid. Also my wife is gone. Vanished. Kaput.

Needless to say I came back from the spire. Walked around for a while enjoying autumn then set my trail for my family and teleported to the Oakfeild homestead. There I found my kid a toddler, aw cute I thought, and then I realised he was a vegie *sigh*. My wife has completly vanished...the breadcrumb trail leads me to the homestead and then once I am inside it leads me out and so on so forth in an endless loop. When I look at the family part in the quest screen it says happy, fine etc so she hasn't left me...

I'm guessing my file is just permanantly screwed and there is nothing I can do about it? If so I will probably try to start another family...how do I get my wife to divorce me if she has disappeared? If I have another kid will they get another chance to grow up? Or will they be stuck as a baby forever?

Re: Oh fantastic...

That happened to me I walked around for hours looking for her xD
What I did was go talk to Hammer(it's a quest to see her at Rookridge inn) and she'll tell you to see your family
That worked for me

Re: Oh fantastic...

just see hammer and go find ur family

Re: Oh fantastic...

Urm if its anything like what I encountered then your wife has bailed and if she doesn't return you will probably get a note saying she is divorcing you and that your kid has been taken into care lol. Other than that I would say the previous two comments are a pretty good idea, nay, excellent ideas :)

Re: Oh fantastic...

Ok thanks I will try that. I was just planning on exploring the world before going to see hammer like I always do before I start a quest. Will seeing hammer start me on a new quest or will I still be able to explore?

btw, weirdkidinabox have some rep, your sig/av made me laugh so hard.

Re: Oh fantastic...

You will start a new quest, but still be able to explore

Re: Oh fantastic...

Well I talked to hammer and my wife is still nowhere to be seen. This time if I set my breadcrumb trail to follow her on the menu, when I come back out the trail is gone completly. I'm guessing she is gone for good? And my kid will forever be a vegatable?

I have a new wife now, like her better than the old one. If I have a kid with her will they get to grow up? Or be stuck as a baby?

Re: Oh fantastic...

If you went to the spire for the first time just than, you will have another chance (I can't remember when exactly you get another chance but it happens). It's a pretty dodgy glitch but..

Re: Oh fantastic...

Yeah it sorta sucks...hopefully it is on lionheads list to fix. And hopefully my next family works out ok. *fingers crossed*
...well time to divorce my old wife. Zero daily budget here I come.

Re: Oh fantastic...

your child will grow up regardless. i had my daughter after defeating Lucien, then i did a couple of Archaeologists jobs, she had grown up anyway, then had major bugs on the 'Rescue Mission', and she ended up being taken by welfare

Re: Oh fantastic...

I have the same problem. I heard sometimes they appear in bloodstone but mine was never there, so i just set the daily allowance to 0 and she hasnt divorced me yet and this has been like this since after the spire

Re: Oh fantastic...

I got a friend with the very same problem, wife just vanished post spire phase. If anybody finds a fix or a solution to this it would be great tbh.

I would say the glitch probably isnt reading the divorce notice or something because as soon as i got back from the spire my wife divorced me and my child was taken into care.

But, there comes a time in every mans life when he must forget the sins of his wife, slaughter his only child and start a new family... in a new house... with new fancy objects O_o

Re: Oh fantastic...

I forgot to mention, my kid went into care, because i shot my husband.

Re: Oh fantastic...

iv seen this glitch mentioned befor. try looking in bloodstone. for some reson if your spose disapears they will reappear in bloodstone. my kid was also a vegtable, he eventually grew out of it and gained a personality. he looks weird though, he has red hair and frekles (from his mom i would assume, she is a redhead) and he seems to be wearing mascara.......... no more toy dolls for him! get the boy a gun!

Re: Oh fantastic...

I have to find my family for a quest
I chose love
but shes nowhere to be found... somebody help me xD i tried bloodstone but she wasn't there

I feel your pain, only difference is my wife divorced me then perished somehow. Then when my second child (to my second wife) wandered off into a hobbe cave somewhere and I delayed going to rescue her, she died. My third child to my second wife... well, I think my wife has been screwing with the postman cause I am white, she is white but our kid is black O_o

Re: Oh fantastic...

another thing, my husband doesn't have the ring over his head anymore. i just can't seem to get him to respond in this quest

Did they not test the game? seriously...

Now is the time to watch the credits and go down the list of game testers sketched faces and memorize each face so if you see them on the street you can tell them how much of an awful job they have done.

My guess would be that since Lionhead is now Microsofts bitch they were being pressured for a release and in true Microsoft style they went with the profit now, patch later philosophy. Oh well, apparently a patch is being worked on right now, no eta for release to my knowledge though.

True true *raises knife*.

Yeah that patch only fixes one glitch though, it's going to take a long time for them to iron out all the glitches and by that time they will be focusing on DLC to try and make as much money as possible. Stupid microsoft. :realmad:
