Online addict dies after ‘marathon’ session

Online addict dies after ‘marathon’ session

Spent ‘almost all’ of seven-day holiday break playing online games

The 330-pound man from Jinzhou, in Liaoning province, collapsed on Saturday, the last day of the holiday, after spending "almost all" of the seven-day break playing online games, the China Daily said, citing his parents.

Note how they coneviently left out the cause of death, as if the gaming killed him. HMM might the 330 lbs have had a slight influence?

Hah, well this one guy in singapore played WoW for 4 days straight, playing at the internet cafe. He would sleep for like an hour each time on a piece cardboard. He had a seizure and died. (Or something like that I can't remember)

Re: Online addict dies after ‘marathon’ session

Well i salute him for his dedication but thats just crazy... and you here about it more and more.

God bless there souls

I say yet again; Don't blame the game, blame the player. Obivously these kinds of people have serious issues, and if they'd be addicted to something else than gaming, like chess, they'd sure as hell do a "marathon chess session" and play 'till they die.

Re: Online addict dies after ‘marathon’ session

That would be ***king hilarious.

"34 Old age pensioners died this morning, at the national chess championship tournament."

Re: Online addict dies after ‘marathon’ session

*worried* That could be Steve, except for the old age thing

I think Tsuyu has a point and if it's not one thing you become addicted to, it will be another. Some people genuinely have addictive personalities and like with any addiction, once it takes over your life then you are in danger of it stopping you from doing anything else like eat, sleep and stuff like that.

Alternatively, he could just have been so damn heavy that sitting still all that time caused serious health problems and DVT...

Shoulda got a Wii....at least he'd have had to move around during the session...

Yeah thats a good point Tsuyu.

Or one of those dance pads thingies. They seem more popular in Asia than anywhere else - and I can see why. It is highly amusing.

Well...could be advertised in order to warn other game addicts. "One half hour Stepmania a day keeps the Grim Reaper away!".

It kind of sad to play games for that long...wait...I am that sad!
I have been guilty of playing Fable for 15 hours straight...maybe I need therapy!

Yea...and a new pair of eyeballs!
I have somehow ended up playing TLC way too much again since my work hours got changed. It is making me dream of it when I am sleeping. There is no escape! =]

Why would one want to escape dreaming about games? :P
