Panda DirectX Exporter!!! HELP ME!!

EDIT!: I've got a new problem/question... I just edited this old topic instead of posting a new one....

When i have made the weapon with the line tool in 3Ds Max and made the mesh editable.

What to do to not make a flat weapon (thin as a paper) and make sharp edges?

and also... Do i need to do more after these things? Or can i just export it know and import in FE?

Thanks for help Guys!

Re: Panda DirectX Exporter!!! HELP ME!!

Put the .dle file in the 3dsmax plugins directory.

Something like: c:\program files\autodesk\3DS Max\Plugins\

But thanks anyway :)

That's good.

Don't know what type of models you want to make/edit, but if you want to do clothing for the hero, you'll need the panda exporter. For weapons and stuff like that, probably any .x exporter will work.

Re: Panda DirectX Exporter!!! HELP ME!!

somewhat off-topic, but how do I get multiple sub-meshes to work in fable? Every time I have more than one, only the first one shows iin the game (and yes I textured both sub-meshes)

Re: Panda DirectX Exporter!!! HELP ME!!

Are you sure it's all parented correct?
Also: Fable doesn't like it if a model has many submeshes.
At least that's my experience.

Re: Panda DirectX Exporter!!! HELP ME!!

yeah, what I did was I had two meshes and parented them to the right object. When I put them in FE it shows up with only 1 of those meshes, even though there are two slots for me to fill in info.

Strange... I'm afraid I can't tell you what's going on. I'm no expert in this either.

First: Don't be afraid to start a new thread if it has a different subject. People can use threads as reference if they have similar questions. When you change the first post, the thread makes no sense anymore... ;)

About your 'problem':

In general; this isn't a 3dsMAX helpdesk - so if you have q's about how the program works, I'd look for answers on any of the tutorial sites you can find on the net (google is your friend).

However: There are some tutorials that are handy to check out:

Here you'll find a nice tutorial on how you could make a sword in 3ds max.

Here you'll find a tutorial on how to parent the weapon correct.

Here you'll find another tutorial that tells you how to set the model up so it'll work in Fable.

Here you'll find a tutorial for Blender, but it is usefull to take a look at.

As for making a UVW map (a texture map) texporter can be handy.

OR you can use this tutorial. It's for a different game, but works the same for any object in 3ds max.

Hope this'll get you on your way ^_^
