PC vs Xbox

So, here's probably a dumb question..
I only have the xbox version of Fable and not the PC version.
Are they any different?
Like, are there maybe different things in the xbox version than the PC?
Like different hair styles or treasures or something?
Or are they exactly the same, just on different systems?

~Cant wait for Fable 2 to come out!
23 days!~

Re: PC vs Xbox

Well the PC version has the added bonus of being hugely moddable.

Re: PC vs Xbox

I liked the xbox version better, only because I liked the control scheme better. However, the PC version is currently more expensive.

Re: PC vs Xbox

well from what ive ben told there are tones of more armours and weapons to choose from

more side quests

the end battle is chandged

diffrent spells

and some other things are alot better and with the modding you can play fable tlc on the computer looking like a huge chicken or something :P

Re: PC vs Xbox

Ohh okay.
Kool.
I think I'll check out the PC one then.
I saw it at a store and wondered.

Re: PC vs Xbox

I seen the pc version on youtube, it runs way smoother (assuming the gfx card and cpu good enough) but I read it has bad controls which cant switch to a gamepad so that put me off and I buying a xbox copy of TLC.

Re: PC vs Xbox

I believe that there is no difference from Fable on any platform. But there is a distinct difference that can be seen very noticeably in the title of the game. FABLE (Xbox) vs. FABLE: The Lost Chapters (PC)

Lost Chapters sounds like it would be an expansion, yes? Also, as people said, modding is possible with the PC version. Trainers are very easy to make, after all. I'm currently enjoying Fable from the disc, which was a comical mistake for me to do since it runs smoother as a downloaded game.

And to the comment about the PC version costing more: there is always an answer to expensive computer software.

Long story short, Fable: The Lost Chapters is the PC port with additional content as an incentive.

Re: PC vs Xbox

firemn there is also the lost chapters for xbox :) I agree tho there is probably some confusion when people mention the extra quests as they probably comparing to the original fable on xbox.

If TLC on the pc has more weapsons/armour than TLC on xbox am curious to know what they are.

The modding is probably ok for a laugh after you have done the game but modding whilst playing the game probably ruins the game.

The interface is different as I have seen on youtube and screenshots.
The graphics are finer detailed (due to pc hardware beating xbox hardware)
Performance will be better on a good pc.
Expect loading times to be far superior due to high ram availability in pcs and hard drive installation.

Re: PC vs Xbox

Very correct. The day after I posted I read about people playing TLC on their xbox. I don't think it was published in America, because no store sells the xbox version of it. That and it's an old xbox game.

True as well to the loading times and image quality on the PC. I was playing it today because at some point I want to enjoy those extra missions. This statement cannot be said about Fable 2, as the 360 has been a generous upgrade from Microsoft's initial system. If it can be said, I will be sad, because no way can my laptop play Fable 2.

I think the notable difference of Fable on the Xbox and PC is that the Xbox has a convenient controller, and the learning curve is minimal since we've been holding the controller for years and all the buttons are designed for ease of use. A keyboard, on the other hand, is not as easy. If you are a diehard WoW addict, then there's going to be absolutely no learning curve, Fable is actually easier and more fun/rewarding in my opinion. The camera is to an extent automatic on the Xbox, while on the PC you control where you look with your mouse, which can be a little perplexing. I'd imagine it would take a lot of coordination to move, choose a spell, attack, and roll all at the same time. The Xbox controller can do that easily.

Xbox has lower quality graphics, a very bearable loading time, autolock on enemies, ease of use with a controller

PC has higher quality graphics, minimal loading times, does have an autolock, but everytime else it is controlled by the mouse, learning curve of using keyboard, but no need to choose which spells to use, as they can almost all be hotkeyed.

Re: PC vs Xbox

The one on Xbox is better.. because i have it.

Re: PC vs Xbox

they are exactly the same, but iv always been better at it on the xbox, but you can mod the pc version. and that is very fun.

Re: PC vs Xbox

all about personal preference in the end. Try and see.

Re: PC vs Xbox

I go with PC, because it can be modded, and the graphics are sometimes better looking.
