Gearbox have updated their website with a skill tree for each character so you can plan the routes and upgrades you may want for your characters in advance. Just follow the link below and take a look, going to help me a lot because in the heat of the game I often rush choices and end up with less useful skills.​

Apparently certain enemies are going to be immune to some elements this time so your going to have to carry a mixture of them to be effective.
