Play.Com To Run New UK Games Show

The popular UK mail order site Play.com has recently announced that it will be hosting a new consumer gaming show in the UK. Described as 'A brand new consumer gaming, entertainment and lifestyle show'. It will take place in the Wembley Stadium on the weekend of March 15-16, 2008. Tickets will go on sale from December 3rd 2007, exclusively from Play.com.

The head of games at Play.com, Gian Luzio had the following to say about it.

The UK audience has been starved of a gaming lifestyle show and we are delighted that we are bringing Play.com Live to the market. We're really excited about the proposition that Play.com Live will offer and through our consumer research it proves that this is exactly what they desire. Play.com Live provides a great platform for all games publishers to showcase their games for 2008 and Wembley provides a fantastic venue for an entertainment show. We have some fantastic plans for this, ensuring it appeals to the mainstream audience both young and old.

Sounds good to me - why they picked Wembley, I'm not entirely sure - Earls Court or Olympia would be better. Still, might have a looky at ticket prices nearer the time

Sounds good to me - why they picked Wembley, I'm not entirely sure - Earls Court or Olympia would be better. Still, might have a looky at ticket prices nearer the time

Wembley has the biggest name attraction and biggest capacity im sure.

I guess - I've always found the other two venues to be better suited to that kind of thing. Mind you, Wembley has taken long enough to be rebuilt so they could do with some publicity and money

Yeah and they need to make their money back on it somehow, expect plenty of things to be there soon. :lol:

I still need to get around to going to The Omega Sektor in Birmingham sometime.
