Play through Fable II without leveling up

Hi All,

Some of you may remember when I played through TLC without ever leveling up. Now I'm doing the same with Fable II and I have to say it is really fun. I think of it as a self imposed difficulty setting.

I did have to add one spell to get out of the Guild Cave though.

I'm am not even collecting any experience points. As an added difficulty I'm not buying anything not plot related. This part is making it a whole lot more fun when I find a good weapon or new clothes.

One downside is that I'll never get to use the advanced moves that come from added skill or strength.

I think in TLC it's more logical considering you start with the ability to block or roll. If I tried it I'd probably pick up one of those two.

Ooh, now there's an idea. The clothes thing does sound exciting, but will you be stealing them from houses? I know you can only get crappy pauper stuff but question stands.

But you can dye that crappy pauper stuff bright colors.

i think you should keep experiance and level it up at the end or when u need it. Like when you go up agaonst the commandant. You will need it. He is strong. Or use it when fightinng trolls, it takes a long time, especially with a meadly lvel 1 accuracy and speed

I already beat the commandant and a couple of trolls. They were very hard and I got knocked out many times.

The Crucible took forever! I averaged around 10 minutes per round. The cool thing was that I really needed to use the environment to help me out in battle. I used the explosive barrels a lot and the spike traps really helped dispatch the balverines. I didn't need any of that when I played it the first few times through.

I really like looking at my experience list and seeing four zeroes :lol:

I got Hal's Armour and wore that for a while. I also have the assassin's shirt and the spire guard's outfit. I've mixed and matched some of it now and dyed most of it with a deep red and she looks really cool.

Another upside of not leveling up is that my character doesn't look like a mutated she-hulk. With blue veins popping out of her massive girth.

I had listed this in another post of why/how I replay this game over and over and over. I like to try new things like this to see how it goes. It is frustrating (especially after playing as a new hero who had been gifted a Red Dragon very early on).

I am doing it with just found items, buying nothing health/improvement related. After much discussion with guy who challenged me to do this, I decided that houses and related benefits were ok, but nothing else.

You can't die, but you just get knocked out so many times!

That's certainly a challenge. I am to fond of grabbing the out laws, and putting my sword right through them. I love the skills, and magic. Besides, I need to look nice. And shopping, I have to shop.
I bet it does make it more difficult.+rep

noice back in TLC I wewdnt lvl my strength so id be more of an asassin character.

I'm dong it right now I'm not really far I'm just out of childhood because I just finished another fable game so i started today

How ard will banshees be.... Hmmmmm....

I got through balvarines better than I thought despite lack of any help from %&%^ Hammer.

Crucible is incredibly LONG since I am just hitting with metal stick a billion times before they die and gun is crap. I will keep plugging away. Banshees will suck. Real bad. Trolls...I don't want to think about.
