Poly-whatty now?

Anyone ever had a polysomnography test done? Or however the hell you spell it...

I've got to have one soon and rather than read wiki-fail-pedia, I'd like to hear from someone, if at all possible, who has had one done or knows someone who has. I gather it doesn't hurt, but it sounds...weird...

Also have to have another MRI which is looking to last about an hour...hard enough keeping completely still for 20 minutes, no idea how I'm going to manage an hour. Unless they wire me up for the sleep test thingy at the same time? Might be a time saver...

Anywho...if anyone can help, it'd be much appreciated :)

Re: Poly-whatty now?

You go in, follow the doctor's instructions, let him do his thing, and walk out feeling better. Somewhat violated, but better.

Sorry I have no idea what the heck that test is either, there are so many that start with polythis and polythat. If its a polygraph, just remember this: its not a lie if you believe it.

Re: Poly-whatty now?

I had one, but all the doctor did was rape me.

Re: Poly-whatty now?

Polyphemus was a gigantic one-eyed son of Poseidon that trapped Odysseus and his men in his cave and began eating two of them each day for supper. He was tricked and killed when Odysseus told him that his name was Nobody and went on to stab him in the eye. The other Cyclopses didn't come to his aid because he screamed "Help! Help! Nobody is killing me!".

....what?

Re: Poly-whatty now?

I think I killed Polyphemus with my Warrior/Spirit character in Titan Quest.

Oh and about your test - I have no idea, dear Angel, since I rarely go to the doctor.

Re: Poly-whatty now?

Apparently it's where you get wired up to a bunch of machines and you go to sleep (yeah, coz that won't be difficult ) - then they measure...stuff...and probably shave off your eyebrows and do weird things to you at the same time.

Consultant thinks I may have sleep apnea but as I'm being tested for MS at the moment, he wants to rule out all possibilities. Apparently sleeping up to 16 hours a day is not normal...

Re: Poly-whatty now?

I'd prefer not to have anything wrong with me either but seeing as I have been tested for various cancers already, I'm just grateful it's not any of those. Treatment for MS has come a long way if it is that and life expectancy is no less than it would be otherwise.

I'm not too worried - whatever it is, I'm sure I'll handle it the usual way...screaming, shouting, running into the distance...
