Poppies

There are 15,000,000. What the hell are they. I have an idea that it is population but that is a really really big number for that. Than I thought flowers, but why the hell would I care how many of one type of flower is in the game unless I can be an opium dealer in game. So anyone know exactly or at least have a decent idea. I a new and figured this be the best part of the forums to post this topic, because it is a spam friendly zone. And i expect some spam for this.O.o

I've answered this elsewhere, but I'll do it here as well - yes poppies are flowers and they featured in the first Fable game and also in Fable: The Lost Chapters. The new Fable 2 world is bigger, therefore more poppies. It was just one of those random facts that don't really mean anything unless you are in a Fable 2 pub quiz team, I suppose.

Unless they are going to introduce opium into Fable 2...but I'm guessing not, seeing as it needs to be available for the younger audiences...

It was something with the GDC interview with PM. I was at first confused by it as well, but apparently, they just like inserting random crap on there (much like all of us here!)

The thread is referring to when Lionhead released some Fable 2 info, including the random and, to our knowledge, pretty pointless fact that there are so many poppies created in the game. Just like at the end credits of Fable The Lost Chapters when it goes on about what takeaways everyone ate during the making of the game and how many babies were born. It is just a random fact - like your polar bear thing.

I was just wondering why he would make such a big dea lout of this..(The thread starter) I mean their just flowers. They are showing how huge the game is - capable of anomating 15 million individual flowers.

I think the fact that there are 15,000,000 poppies say a lot about the size of the game

Todd.. That is exactly what I just said....

They are showing how huge the game is - capable of animating 15 million individual flowers.

Well said, Todd. I believe that it's only a matter of stating that basically, "Hey! This game is fricking huge!" to say the least.

thanks for answering everyone. Yeah that is a cool bit of info to give an idea on size and maybe power of the game. Too bad about the opium. I am not into drugs, but would be kinda funny to do that in game. And I know this is going to be available to kids, but with it being more mature, and having a choice to have unprotected sex or protected I figure they might put something like a illegal substance into the game like KOTOR and spice.

Well, since they said this one is supposed to be more mature I dont see why they wouldnt include drugs (Even ones that realy exist). Fable TLC included:
Alchohol
The ability to decapitate someone
allowed you to beat up children
Sex and Sodomy
Cursing
Allowed you to kill your sister, not to mention dozens of other nonthreatening NPCs

And whoever said this would be sold to children. . .not unless their parents buy it for them or the clerk is incompetent. It will be be rated M, and no store Ive been to in the past 3 years would even consider selling it to someone under 18.

But as everyone else said before, 15 million flowers is just to let us know how truly massive this game will be.
