I noticed that it's been getting slower and slower, so much the frame rate reduced GREATLY, it's like playing a game in slow motion.
My xbox has also been making grrkg ggrkkrk grkk sounds, never did that when I first got it, and I only play it for 1-2 hours at a time and let it cool about 30-40 mins.

hmmmm have you tried a new file?if it does it even with a new charater profile the disk may be dirty.more likely its because your xbox could be old from what i heard these bugs are happening on old virsions of the xbox360.
