problem getting companions achievement?

ive tried to get this with 3 different people now but i still cant get it?
does is have to be a particular expression?
any help please?

ok it's easy to do.
the best place is probably in a pub where there's lots of ppl.
get your friend to join you or you join him it dosen't really matter.
then go into the pub in the afternoon or when there's loads of ppl there.
then do the expression and hold it (hold A button)then release at the same time.
you don't even need to start at the exact same time just release at the same time.
