Problem ingame

Hi, right now I am on the quest where you have to get the seer from the bandits and whenever I get near the route you take to get there my screen blacks out but, game is still working. When I get to task manager or anything to just bring my screen back to desktop the monitor is fine. Though if I am paused in the game it will be fine once I get back on till I get out of menu then it does same thing again.

I don't have the PC version. :( I wish I could help.

Where abouts do you get on the map when your screen goes blank? Because there's a cutscene at one point. are there any scratches on your disc?

(and welcome to the forums. ^_^)

Re: Problem ingame

There isn't a cutscene and happens once I get on the beach.

oakvale beach?

Because there is a cut scene....Before the quest actually starts..When you get to the main door you have to get by..

Re: Problem ingame

Try running some GFX tests see if thats the problem:

Start Menu > Run > dxdiag > Display > Test Direct Draw & Test Direct 3D

If no problems then make sure you have latest version of Direct X and most recent GFX Drivers.

Re: Problem ingame

I did the tests and nothing was wrong. Do you have and suggested areas I should look for the lastest ver. of directx and Gfx drivers?

Yeah, I got past that. I mean afterwards.

there is no beach after that..
Oakvale is the only one on the way to the bandits camp.

so I have no idea where you're talking about.

I don't know

Download this: CCleaner.com

Its just a PC Cleaner but your GFX Card will be listed at top when you run it... it should say what service pack you got, Processor, RAM and GFX Card names...

Then tell me what it says and i will try to find you the right drivers.

Re: Problem ingame

ok. Or, while I wait on loading that, how do you get married? Do you need a wedding ring?

You must keep flirting and doing popular expressions & give her gifts from time to time like a box of chocolates or flowers or if your rich give her gems when the heart gets big enough you should hear "will you marry me" when she says that give her a ring of any sort .

Re: Problem ingame

radeon 9200 SE Family (microsoft corporation.)

Can you marry barber in the town that has mayor lady grey?

Re: Problem ingame

You can marry the barber in the original Fable. In TLC, you don't have that option...at least as far as I've experienced.

Re: Problem ingame

Afraid I can't add anything more to this as it seems everyone has this covered pretty well. Just thought I'd say that I'm very impressed by some of the effort put in by the community to help out a Fable fan in need... ^_^

+rep to everyone who has contributed so far.

Re: Problem ingame

Hi Triflare -

Aside from the technical solutions suggested here (which are very good), have you tried pressing "esc" when the screen goes black, like you would to end a cut scene early? I remember correctly, there are a couple of cut scenes before you enter the bandit camp. Also, not to insult your intelligence, but did you give it a good bit of time to do what it needs to do before coming back up?

As far as marriage goes, I once tried giving gifts until my intended turned green, then gave her a wedding ring. The heart above her head turned gold, and after interacting with her again, she popped the question. I don't know if this is a glitch or just a different way of doing things.

I don't know if either of these will be of any help to you, but I thought I would mention them. Oh and by the way, I have the PC version of the game. Good luck.
