ProjectEgo was the code name for Fable when it was first being made

Project because well.. it was a project. Ego because of "alter-ego", that you could be who you wanted to be in Fable, full with the consequences of your choices. The Hero is your "alter-ego" - are you a naughty boy/girl or a good boy/girl...?

Atleast, that's how I've always seen it.

Yeah id say that about sums it up really, its kind of a self explanatory name. Now if it had a codename like the Gamecube (Project Dolphin) then maybe more questions would have needed to be asked.

Yeah originally Project Dolphin was the very first code name given to it and that name has moved onto other things now.
