PS3 is a "Surf 'n Turf", Wii "a lollipop"
"And I'm too old for lollipops" says Sony's Jack Tretton
Sony honcho Jack Tretton compared PS3 to lobster and steak next to Wii, which he said is like a lollipop in a rather bizarre rant during a Gamepro interview.
"I think the PS3 is the Surf 'n Turf," he said. "You want the lobster and steak and you're going to give yourself the treat of getting the best thing on the menu.
"The PS2 is your favourite burger restaurant -- you go there for comfort food and it's just always good and is a good value," he went on to say.
But his food analogy wasn't quite so positive for competing consoles. ""[As for the other two consoles], one [Wii] is a lollipop, and I'm too old for lollipops," he said, dismissing Wii as a child's console.
And he compare Xbox 360 to a bad meal, saying: "The other one [Xbox 360] I get sick from once in a while because the cook isn't always reliable."
My Response:
For one:
As a first, i'll quote 'Reace', whom commented on this topic. And he's dead on right.
"The problem with his anology is that the cover charge to get into his fine establishment is twice that of the restaurant next door. Furthermore, his menu has very little compared to the huge menu next door and the few good dishes he has are also offered by the guy next door and are just as good (or better in most cases).
Wii=Lolipop is a good anology, though. Needs more meat and potatoes for us "core" gamers. We don't want happy meals."
Two:
Saying the 360 isn't always reliable is just like saying the PS3 is worth getting shot for. Unlike a 'Surf 'n Turf', the PS3 is not worth trying for the price. And what treat do you get for the PS3? The only exclusive game I could think of thats is good for the PS3 is Killzone and Lair (maybe resistence fall of man). Sorry Sony, Ninja Gaiden was on the xbox first.
I would say the 360 is a 360. It's for the hardcore players, but it also relates to the casual gamers. Here's a 360 angus burger ingredients:
Two layers of entertainment
One layer of real next generation graphics
One layer of epic games
Two layers of Xbox Live gaming and marketplace
Sprinkles with awesome games like Fable 2 and Halo 3.
Another layer of playability and FUN
Put it in the oven, everyone who is a true gamer's gonna eat it.
(If this topic was posted before, sorry about that. Remember, this is only my opinion)
