PSP vs. DS

PSP vs. DS

Do you perfer the PSP or the DS???

there is a lot of videos and polls about this topic

Now I'm wondering about all of you guys. Which do you prefer? :cool:



DS PROS:

Well, here's my shpeil. The DS has more original games and it is cheaper than the PSP. it also has a cool touch screen :D The DS has pictochat which allows you to talk to people without making a sound, plus you get to draw :lol:!!! The Ds has games that have wifi capabilities so you could go to wireless hotspots and play with people around the world. You can't beat the DS games that are original and always fun to pick up and play. The battery also lasts for about 14 hours!

DS CONS:

The Wi-Fi has a pretty weak signal. You pretty much have to sit RIGHT next to eachother to play multiplayer games. The touch screen is delicate as can be, you have to tap it extreamely lightly and you don't get that really warm feeling of bieng OMEGA! The DS has mainly games that are for kids with the exeption of resident evil. The Graphics are semi-poor and the games are TOO short. The games are mainly for easy playing, not for the HARDCORE GAMERS.


PSP PROS:

The PSP is a media powerhouse :D You can play mp3's, download and share videos, buy UMD videos and watch movies, and play UMD games and download games of the internet.
If you get a new PSP system and the firmware is 1.50 DON'T UPGRADE YET!!!
you can download emulations for you're psp (this is like modding, except more complicated) where you can have a virtual console downloaded on your flash0!!! every game from one of the old consoles (they have snes, jaguar, nes, psx, ps2, gba, gb, and even the atari!) you need to have firmware version 1.50 though because it was the first firmware from the psp and it had some little holes and security lupeholes, until the update and the people at sony fixed it. If you have downloaded an update you can downgrade you're psp back to 1.50. BUT if you have firmware version 3.52 (the newest upgrade) YOU ARE SCREWED because there is not a downgrade for this...yet
PSP CONS:

There is a slim to none chance that when you emulate the psp or add XMB themes to it, it will brick. (it has never done this to me, but it has to some people.) Do it at you're own risk!!! The PSP has mainly PODS for it so most of the games are not that original. The battery lasts for a VERY SHORT amount of time and you need to charge it alot!!! Be a wise person if yur on a road trip, buy a car charger.


All in all, i Choose my psp :D The psp has a lot more features, large bright LCD screen, and the games have good graphics too,

because although the touch screen and stuff is kinda gimmicky, that doesnt mean the games and stuff arent good and... crap i forgot the word...

well, i have a psp and ds lite cause im cool that way, so i can play whichever one i feel like, muahahaha

i have both too, but i love the psp capabilities :D

my PSP is a friggin vertual old school Steamboat (i have the snes, nes, psx, atari, and sega genises)

In order to have the most fun BUY THEM BOTH!!! they each have there own way of hooking you and you will see that ds lovers only love ds because they only BOUGHT THAT ONE if you bought them both you can see what I mean.

Another vote for the Nintendo DS from me. My wife has a DS Lite and I think it's awesome - when she lets me have a go, that is. ^_^

I haven't played on the PSP, though. They look pretty cool but I'm still sticking with the DS till then.

I dont and wont ever own either but id say PSP for sure although the DS is nifty little device with good touch screen and much better variety of games the PSP is great piece of handheld kit. PSP could be so much better with better games but as a music player, movie player, and picture device (that works with 360 too :lol:) its great piece of hardware.

you don't need a special firmware for this. its fun and easy to install

As with Drakan, I would never own any of them, but with my inherent hate for anything related to Sony's gaming industry I would have to say DS.

Is it really a competition? PSP owns the DS, I reckon.

PSP has browser (as in internet), mp3 player, movie player, picture viewer, decent graphics compared to its size, and, if you have a custom formware about three hundred times more stuff.

DS has pictochat and a touchscreen. Both are gimmicks. Fun gimmicks albeit, but gimmicks nontheless. It also has crap graphics compared to its size(DS Lite notwithstanding), crap WiFi strenghth and, dare I say it, crap games.

Nintendo are making their money off of gimmicks.
