Question

Does anyone know how to tell if you have a bruised rib or not?
For the past..mm I wanna say 3 days I've had a sharp pain in my lower abdomen, on the right side. Whenever I move it hurts slightly, makes me take a sharp intake of breath. :( It's hard to explain but it's been like this for a while
Now, I'm not sure, but I'm beginning to think it sounds like a bruised rib. Just wanted to know what anyone else thought.

.... Either a bruise rip or broken. Depends on how you take it. Do you cry when it hurts or is it just a annoyance? ( you could be pregnant.. )

Re: Question

Well the last time I had anything like that, I exploded in hospital...although I doubt this is the case for you

Have you done anything strenuous lately which has coincided with this pain? Heavy lifting, sports, stuff like that?

Re: Question

Get down to the doctors as soon as possible, Sephi. It always starts with an achy rib... but it can soon escalate to your head falling off. I've seen it happen too many times before!

 Drama queen

Got a point though - if it's been a while with no obvious cause or other symptoms, you need to see a doctor and find out the underlying cause, if any.

No EXTREME pain no, Just a slight annoyance, when I sigh or try to take big deep breaths.

Recently? No. There was one day this week when me and my room mates had a little tiff. Justin was trying to pull me into the room. I might have hit the door frame

Re: Question

Unless you have a problem with your bones generally, it is highly unlikely you will have done any big damage to yourself. Ribs take some battering before they break or fracture. You may have bruised them as you say or you could have pulled a muscle.

If it's lower down than your actual ribs, it could be something a little more important that's hurting - unexplained abdominal pain must never be ignored because it covers a wide range of possible diagnoses...if you develop anything like a temperature or vomiting - or the pain gets worse - dial 911 and sit down in the ER for a while. Always good fun

Re: Question

It can't be that bad if it's just anoying... I won't want to dewll on it too much. One thing though, don't ever take a little pain WAY too lightly. One time, I was feeling so good. Then the next thing you know, I'm on the ground crying because the little pain in my foot just turn and felt like I was burning.
