Do u need a gold membership on xbox live to trade with ppl online?

Yep. You need Gold to do practically anything. The only thing silver is good for, is sending messages and viewing DLC. In fact I'm not even sure if you can view DLC with silver.

u can download stuff wiv silver... but that sucks, i only need 2 more hero dolls

i think that the way they are going they may put more dolls in future dlc

You can't trade dolls between accounts as far as I know
