Rate my PC.

My PC:

Intel core 2 duo both cores on 2.2 ghz

2 gig ram.

and nvidia geforce 8400 GS

now this isnt the best comp but its good enough for me ^_^ but if you think something on my computer needs to be changed tell me.
rate it from 1-10 please

Re: Rate my PC.

I rate it about 17. Any computer with a Nvidia 8000 series gets over a ten. 2 gig of ram helps aswell lol.

It's better than mine.

Re: Rate my PC.

ok lol. 17?! i didnt think it was that good... cuz i cant play the newest games like CoD4 or sumthing like that on high settings

Re: Rate my PC.

I'd give it a 6 or 7 if you're comparing systems that you could buy today. 8 compared to most computers that people have.

Re: Rate my PC.

ok so its pretty ok?

Re: Rate my PC.

I'd say a 6.

Your ram is fine, and you CPU is ok. But its starting to lag behind...

Ans so is your graphicscard. Still good enough, absolutely, but it wont be for so long.

Re: Rate my PC.

Your setup is almost identical to the hardware I have in my Dell notebook. ^_^ I think you might have a faster processor than mine, though. I think my CPU is clocked at 2.1 GHz where as yours is 2.2 GHz.

Re: Rate my PC.

2.1 2.2 no big difference.

Re: Rate my PC.

I guess. I'm sure it might make a fairly noticeable difference when it comes to gaming but I rarely play games on my notebook, and when I do it's either Chessmaster 10th Edition or Age of Mythology. Aside from that I only really use my notebook for browsing the web, working on websites and tinkering with some graphics in Aobe Photoshop CS3 so I don't really need an especially beefy processor or graphics card. It helps that I've got both but I don't tend to take advantage of either all that much.

Can't wait to buy a Macbook Pro. Windows Vista is apparently meant to be a huge memory and resource-hog where as the Apple OSX operating system has a much lighter memory-footprint.

Re: Rate my PC.

Lol shows what I know about PC specs. I'm going to go back in my hole now.

Re: Rate my PC.

Truth be told: I know hardly about computers at all. What little I do know is what I've picked up a long the way as I worked my way through about 3 computers and 2 laptops, but I am by no stretch of the imagination an expert on computers - especially when it comes to hardware. I wouldn't know how to replace a motherboard, graphics card or whatever without breaking something. RAM is pretty straight forward, though.

To give you an idea of just how computer illiterate my family is: My mother eventually managed to learn how to turn on the computer and boot up Spider Solitaire. whereas my dad never even managed to get as far as turning the computer on. Heck, my dad struggled with operating the VCR and DVD player.

But, yeah, I wouldn't recommend following any of my computer advice if ever I give any. You'd be better off listening to anyone but me!

Re: Rate my PC.

ha! u think ur bad? i currently have 6 computers in my room. 2 work, one of which broke after 6 days in my possession then eventually got fixed, and the rest i've either killed the hard drive, fryed the motherboard (2 of them, and it's supposed 2 be quite hard to do...) or just taken apart and forgotten how to put back together...

i need a new graphics card... still using the integrated one, reluctant 2 push it in case machine blows up...
what does anyone think of the Radeon HD 4850? i've found a place i can get 1 relatively cheap (not as cheap as in US, but import charges make that prospect unappetising...)
