REALLY NEED HELP!!! ANYONE!!!!

I AM IN OAKVALE AFTER TALKING TO THE ABBOT I WENT TO FIND BARNUM IN THE TAVERN AND HE IS NOT THERE IN FACT HE IS NOT ANYWHERE IN OAKVALE!! I GUESS ITS A GAME GLICH OR SOMETHING.... ANYWAY I HAVE BEEN TRYING DESPERATELY TO RAISE MY RENOUN HIGH ENOUGH BY SHOWING MY TROPHY AND PAYING BARDS SO I CAN GET THE ABBOT TO GIVE ME THE QUEST!! BUT... SO FAR NO LUCK, AND I BEEN AFTER IT AWHILE.

DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW HIGH YOU HAVE TO GET THE RENOWN FOR THE ABBOT TO KICK IN???? OR DO YOU HAVE TO DO OTHER QUESTS BEFORE HE WILL TALK TO YOU AGAIN????

PLEASE HELP I DONT WANT TO HAVE TO START FROM BEGINNING.

That dude is upstairs to the left in the tavern, did you check up there?

edit: you don't have to get the renown very high, shouldn't take long.

ya i checked up top to left in tavern. he not anywhere around. I have taken my renown from around 900 to over 1150 and no luck so far.

You may need closer to 2000, maybe even 2000. Just do a couple of side quests, I'm pretty sure a few are offered there. Also have you made sure that your quest is set for the dude in the tavern? That's crucial so double check it if you're not absolutely positive that it's your primary quest, although it should be by default I think.

I am having the same problem as you. I went to talk to the Abbot--then did a few things went to check Burnum out...and he was GONE! I searched everywhere. Not sure what to do about the Bridge--Even if the Abbot gives the quest...the bridge would still be down. I hate to restart the game.
