It’s time to readjust your psyche once more to receive something magnificent and full of the unexpected. Another mind-blowing excursion from Q Entertainment (Lumines LIVE, Every Extend Extra Extreme) has arrived on Xbox LIVE Arcade: Rez HD.

A vibrant cyber world awaits you, comprising five stages of mesmerizing shoot-’em-up action. Vector landscapes and the dangerous objects within them materialize before your eyes, colours pulsating to a unique musical theme.

Although Rez HD is an action-shooter at heart, the ability to compose the rhythms you hear according to how you play through the game makes it truly special. Every time you play, you create a new audio-visual experience structured around the core shooting theme. Rez HD also features Boss battles, five in all, and you can even select a mode to creatively destruct these one after the other, skipping out the levels.

Download Rez HD from Xbox LIVE Arcade today for 800 Microsoft Points and discover what all the fuss is about. As the guys at Q Entertainment like to say: “Rez will open your senses…let’s go to Synaesthesia!” In other words, it’s a blast!

Also on Xbox LIVE Arcade today is Chessmaster, the reference chess series that can be played in 2D or 3D. Chessmaster can train anyone to become a worthy challenger using increasingly tougher scenarios. You can then use your skills to play versus the computer or with other chess fans across Xbox LIVE.

Don’t forget that new and original games are released every Wednesday on Xbox LIVE Arcade, each with superb multiplayer features to enjoy with friends and family. The demos are always free to download, so you easily can sample what’s in store.

Have a fun week, see you next Wednesday.

Chessmaster is a good game - got it for the PC. Dunno whether it would be massively popular on Live though...

Since it doesn't involve shooting things with guns, I'd have to say no, no it wouldn't.

Maybe you can download it and use it whenever your anti-gaming relatives come into the room.

"You playing on that brain-rotting machine again??"
"Why yes, mater and pater - kindly see how I am engaging in an intellectually stimulating and challenging game of chess."
"Such a sweet child...and clearly a genius. We must write to Microsoft at once and commend them highly for improving the minds of children everywhere"

Neither appeal to me but its an update none the less.

Chessmaster? On Xbox Live? :w00t:

If it's the same Chessmaster game that's developed by Codemasters then I might just use up my remaining Xbox Live marketplace points to buy it. Rez HD doesn't look half bad, either. Rez was meant to be pretty good when it first debuted on the Dreamcast.

It's also available on the Nintendo DS :)

Remember playing Chessmaster 3D on the PSOne years ago... It was an alright game, but it got very boring when i started beating everyone.. including the Chessmaster himself.. :noexpression:

Played a demo of Rez before on the PS2, but I could never find the full game on shelves, so damn rare.
