Dear Fans of Sacred 2 and Ascaron
On Tuesday 14th April 2009, Ascaron Entertainment GmbH, Germany, went into administration at the regional court in Bielefeld, Germany.
Due to the protection offered by German administration rights, Ascaron intends to use this as an opportunity to secure the future of the company.
We, the executives of Ascaron Entertainment GmbH, thank all our fans for their superb support and assistance in making Sacred 2: Fallen Angel the success it is today.
Our special thanks go to all our employees. Without the dedication and motivation of all the staff Sacred 2 would not exist.
We are also proud to announce that development of Sacred 2 on Playstation3 and Xbox 360 is now complete. Sacred 2 will be available on both formats in May 2009. We would like to wish all console gamers a fantastic fantasy experience with Sacred 2.
The server and services of Sacred 2 multiplayer and the Securom game activation are unaffected and will continue as usual.

17th April 2009: Ascaron Entertainment GmbH announces the completion of Sacred 2 console versions and also presents itself under the protection of insolvency law.
"On Tuesday 14th April 2009, Ascaron Entertainment GmbH went into administration at the regional court in Bielefeld, Germany.
Through this action Ascaron is now protected by German administration rights.
Ascaron Entertainment GmbH intends to use this as an opportunity to secure the future of both the company and its employees.
The renowned action roleplaying game Sacred 2 continues to have a huge international potential.
Sacred 2 on PC charted at No.1 in the German game charts for 5 weeks during October 2008, and claimed several respected game awards. By the end of 2008 over 100,000 copies had been sold in Germany, as well as over 400,000 copies worldwide, along with top places in international PC charts.
The development of Sacred 2 Playstation3 and Xbox 360 finished a few days ago. The necessary approvals have been received by Sony and Microsoft.
Both console versions of Sacred 2: Fallen Angel will hit the shelves by the end of May 2009.
The development team is currently working on a Sacred 2 PC expansion and on the development of the sequel, Sacred 3.
After four years developing Sacred 2: Fallen Angel, an extended development delay made it necessary for Ascaron to go into administration.
Even with the high personal commitment of all Ascaron employees it was not possible to make up for this delay.
Ascaron has already begun negotiations with several well-known interested parties to discuss a positive takeover.
