Scars and tatts and other things.

So recently they threw away the not dying Idea, the testers didnt wants scars on their character. So I remembered a few things, I hated the scars and junk my character had when he was older, and the fact that the tattoos were faded, even when I retatted them they were fade, I hope they considered these things.

Re: Scars and tatts and other things.

Hopefully they've given this some thought, which they probably have from comments and reviews from their first game.
I remember one of the boasts I always took was the 'Do the quest naked' boast, and that made my character's entire chest look all pale and faded in the middle.

Re: Scars and tatts and other things.

I hardly ever boasted, I did boast for naked when I was hunting hobbes with whisper, It was an accident but hey, Me naked, chicks are present, whats not to like.

Re: Scars and tatts and other things.

I didnt often do boasts in my games, but also, when my char was 40 he looked like he was way older. Also, I didn't like that magic aged you so fast.

I agree totally! Could'nt stand the magic aging process. I used magic all the time. :(

I don't know why so many people hated the scars. I loved the scarring system in the original Fable, I felt it gave my character a lot more... well, character. I also liked the look of the aging as well because rather than looking like scrawny hunched old man, you aged with 'grace' :). I'm anxious to see how Lionhead will be handling the new death and aging systems.

I believe the aging process is still in there. It's just going to take longer. Probably cause, the game is longer and more involved. I know it's manly, but ladies don't age as nicely, as men do.:(

Re: Scars and tatts and other things.

when did they decide to make it so you can die?.... plz post a link because that was a huge thing... and personally i think if u dont like scars maybe you should not just button mash... and i remeber him saying you would be able to have them removed... anyways please show me where they said that you can die... its not that i dont believe you its just that was a big thing to me and i just want proof

edit: nevermind i see the thing... oh well

Re: Scars and tatts and other things.

I wonder if you work hard enough for either the temple of avo or skorm (depending on alignment) your character can get immortality...that is...freedom of aging and staying at a ripe age of 25. Still slayable and scarable, but always young.

It's been said in a bunch of interviews that you actually don't die.

It would suck big time if you could die...

I don't think Steampunk meant that you would be able to literally die and that's it, he's just saying that they're changing the system they used for whenever you died in battle. In Fable 1, whenever you died, you got scarred up. They were going to use the same system in Fable 2, but decided to change it because the testers were resetting the game to avoid getting scars. So he's just saying that the way dying is handled in the game is being changed, not that you will die and then game over.

Also, it was said in the interviews released only a few days ago by 'triggerman' that your character does not die. So we're not going to have to worry about dying. :)

Re: Scars and tatts and other things.

I loved the scaring system on Fable 1 so much, was a great feature that i loved.

Re: Scars and tatts and other things.

I didnt like the scarring system, I didnt understand why or at what point the scars occur. But I also wasn't sure if the scars were different.

Re: Scars and tatts and other things.

For me, I never got a single tatoo in fable 1, but i did get a lot of scars. I got one on my first quest from a wasp, but it was so freakin awesome!!! It went across my whole face and looked pretty dang manly. Though I dont know if it would be good if the girls had 'manly scars' as well.

Re: Scars and tatts and other things.

The only tatoos I got was the double arrow tatoo on my face. I'd get the Balverine one for my back, and when I got to Snowspire, I'd get the commander one for my face.:)
