Scars

Judging by the general tone of conversation i've got the impression that people don't like the idea of scars as a penalty for death. I actually like getting scars as it reminds me of epic battles (except when you die against, say, a hob.) Admittedly they could have implemented it better, for instance i would have liked it if you acquired scars not just by dying but by being struck by a high class of enemy when on low health. It could have used a cinematic slow-mo camera like when you use a flourish attack. For instance a semi-boss creature with a spiked tail whips it's tail at you after giving you a beating and the spiked tip scrapes across your face in slow motion giving you a scar. You can't say you wouldn't remember that when you looked at your character

Ah you have righteously ***** slapped me sir. Well done

Re: Scars

You probably wanted a universal topic on Scars didn't you OP ?

I for one think scar for death is pretty dumb. I liked it in Fable 2 but, it really removes the difficulty from the game. I think they should go back to Fable's scar system, or use yours, cause I'm digging your idea for it.

edit:

Nvm I guess.

Re: Scars

Thankyou. What was Fable's scar system? I never bought it, a decision i regret immensely. Especially as i can't understand why everyone loves 'jack of blades' so much. Guess you had to play the game

Re: Scars

Oh well you got scars every couple of times you got whacked at low health. And JoB in the original had a voice that made you think, and he wasn't a typical villain, he was pretty sociopathic, acting like a friend in the midst of killing your family, he was a classic character. Then they screwed up his voice in TLC, ughh..

Jack of Blades was a good villain, especially when he became a dragon. He was the only character that would transform to a dragon and the hero could have a dragon-fight with him in the end of Fable The Lost Chapters.

The fight in the original Fable, also was a good one, you had the feeling you were fighting against someone that did bad, evil things to the world and he was free to roam it, while you where imprisoned and betrayed.

About his original voice and his "new" voice. I can only say that JoB's (Jack of Blades) old voice sounded more, hmm, confusing and dark. When in The Lost Chapters he sounds like a villain, but keeps sounding as a friend when required.

Basically, scars appear on your character's body depending when and where you were hit from an enemy, also depends on the weapon. You could also have very cool scars on your face, some weren't nice. This was depending mostly on your health and if you were knocked out or not, also how many hits you would get from the enemy creature.

Let me apologize for my post above, I just confused what you were saying into the post.

Re: Scars

Wait! You got scarred depending on where you got hit and when in Fable? I'm pretty sure it was based on Renown, As I didn't get one until I started getting renown, Even when I didn't get hit. Like, Age in 1 was based on how many skills you bought.

WHattatata no! its how long you play.. How long have you been off the game? also skills may increase your age, but so does play time for sure.

Re: Scars

Do you have PC edition? Cause in X-Box it's entirely different. I stopped a month back when my copy got busted.

Re: Scars

I play TLC on pc because my xbox copy is a tad lost.

Re: Scars

Wow this has strayed off topic. Don't threads get deleted for that?
